Marc-Andre Barriault returns to his home province looking to end an ugly three-fight slide that has lingered over the last two years. Bruno Silva is in an even more vulnerable position as he’s lost four straight fights and six of his last seven.

Barriault is a -165 favourite to win on the MMA odds, while Silva is a +135 underdog.

Marc-Andre Barriault UFC 315 Odds

Barriault is 16-9 with one ‘no contest’ since his professional MMA debut in 2014. The 35-year-old has also competed in TKO Major League MMA, winning the TKO middleweight and the TKO light heavyweight championships.

“Power Bar” looked like he would be the next Canadian superstar when he signed with the UFC in 2019, but it quickly went south and it took him five fights to pick up his first win in the Octagon. Frankly, he’s lucky the UFC didn’t drop him.

Barriault started to find a groove when he shifted his training regimen to focus on being more of a patient strike rather than an outright brawler. That originally yielded some success with wins over Julian Marquez and Eryk Anders in 2023, but 2024 was a nightmare. He suffered losses against Chris Curtis, Joe Pyfer and Dustin Stoltzfus, with the last two coming by first-round knockout.

Barriault’s big advantage on Saturday will be his gas tank. He’s proven he’s comfortable going the distance, while his opponent has struggled to hang around in later rounds. Barriault has the edge if this fight goes three full rounds.

Bruno Silva UFC 315 Odds

Silva is 23-12 in his UFC career dating back to 2010. The 35-year-old spent over a decade fighting regionally before eventually becoming the M-1 Global middleweight champion.

“Blindado” had a great start to his UFC career, winning his first three fights by knockout, two of which came in the first-round. Unfortunately, he’s struggled heavily against the top half of the middleweight division, losing six of his last seven fights.

The problem with Silva is his wild brawling style. It helped him earn 20 career knockout wins, but it’s a style top fighters can read and exploit. He’s consistently outwrestled by opponents and when he keeps things standing up, he just doesn’t seem to have a high enough fight I.Q. to match top competitors.

Silva can’t afford to let this fight go on long. His best shot to win is to land a heavy strike on Barriault’s chin early. The longer this fight goes, the more danger Silva will be in.

UFC 315 Prediction: Barriault vs. Silva

Barriault wins by decision (+200).
