One of the most anticipated fights of the year will take place during the Main Event of UFC 207. After more than a year out of the Octagon, the former bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, will attempt the first comeback of her career.

Rousey vs. Nunes Odds

The odds are slightly favoring Rousey to do just that, as she’s currently listed as the slight -130 favorite. Protecting her belt is the current bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, the underdog at +110. Nunes will face Ronda in her first title defense fight since she convincingly stripped the belt from Miesha Tate in July. Sports Interaction’s UFC betting odds on the Rousey vs. Nunes fight are here.

Rousey vs. Nunes Betting Trends

Currently, Nunes is seeing three times as much betting support from bettors at Sports Interaction. In her last fight against Holly Holm, when she lost in the second round of their championship bout at UFC 193, Rousey was a huge favorite. Her resulting defeat was so thorough, that many feel she may have lost her edge and might not have her mind in the game following the kick to the head that put her out of commission for a year.

Nunes is confident she can finish Rousey quickly. In a recent interview, she made the bold prediction that she’d win in the first round, which is Rousey’s MO. Nunes has finished ten of her thirteen wins in the first round, and three out of the other four losses came late in the fights. 11 of Rousey’s 12 career wins came by way of stoppage in the first round.

Rousey, of course, was ready with a response when she made an appearance on Conan O’Brien and was asked about Nunes’ comments.

“Yeah, well she kind of has to say that, because everyone knows she gasses out in the second,” Rousey said. “So she has to tell herself that, ‘It’s gonna happen first round.’ What else is she gonna tell herself?”

Rousey has her own opinions on Nunes’ fighting style, saying that she “gasses out in the second round” which she believes will be the key to beating her and winning back her former title.
