Just a month after Ronda Rousey defeated Cat Zingano in an astonishing 14 seconds, the UFC announced that the seemingly unbeatable Rousey would defend her women’s bantamweight championship against the undefeated Bethe Correia in August. Here are the details for the upcoming fight:
UFC 190 will be held on August 1, 2015 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The preliminary card will begin at 7pm ET, with the main card beginning at 10pm ET. It is expected that Rousey and Correia will square off at 12:15am ET. To call Correia the underdog might be the understatement of the century, as Rousey currently sits favored at -1300.
You’ll be able to watch the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1 at 8pm ET but will need to switch to pay-per-view at 10pm to be able to watch Rousey take on Correia.
If you prefer to watch online, the preliminary card can be found on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 7pm ET and the Fox Sports Go app at 8pm ET. The main card will appear online on UFC TV at 10pm ET.
Rousey last fought in February at UFC 184. Prior to the fight, she stated she wanted the fight to end so quickly that it could be captured in an Instagram video, which has a maximum length of 15 seconds. She succeeded, as the match was the quickest finish in a UFC title fight.
Correia last competed in August, defeating Shayna Baszler by way of second round TKO at UFC 177. Both fighters are undefeated, which makes this fight even more of a must see event.
