Robbie Lawler UFC 290 Odds

The 41-year-old Lawler, who now fights out of Florida, is an MMA fan-favorite legend with a record of 29-16 in a professional career dating way back to 2001. Lawler is a former UFC welterweight champion and EliteXC middleweight champion and the only fighter to have won three consecutive “Fight of the Year” awards, including against Canadian Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 in 2015.

On April 8 this year, it was announced that Lawler and MacDonald would be inducted to the UFC Fight Wing Hall of Fame (this week) for that epic welterweight title bout which saw Lawler defeat MacDonald by fifth-round TKO at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Lawler is also one of three fighters in UFC history to win two title fights by split decision, joining Aljamain Sterling and Benson Henderson.

“Ruthless” is not ranked in the welterweight division at this point with the end of his career near – says he will retire after this one but has said that before. Lawler has lost six of his past eight and was last in the Octagon in July 2022 and took a second-round TKO (punches) loss to Bryan Barberena. Lawler was scheduled to fight Santiago Ponzinibbio in December but had to withdraw due to injury.

The 5-foot-11 Lawler, a southpaw, has a reach of 74 inches and his fights average 11:34. He lands 3.83 significant strikes per minute with 46 per cent accuracy and absorbs 4.67 with 59 per cent accuracy. His takedown average is 0.65 per 15 minutes with 64 per cent accuracy, and his takedown defence is 65 per cent. Lawler has hit on 73.9 per cent of his takedown attempts in solely UFC competition, the second-highest accuracy rate in company history behind Nordine Taleb (76.2 per cent).

For Saturday, Lawler is +400 to win by decision, +475 by KO/TKO/DQ and +2000 by submission. A draw is +6600. He has 21 wins by KO/TKO, seven by decision and one by submission. Seven of Lawler’s losses are via the judges, five by submission and four by KO/TKO.

Niko Price UFC Fight Night Odds

Leon Edwards is the current welterweight champion, and the 33-year-old Price (15-6) is unranked in the division. Like his opponent, Price fights out of south Florida. Price was 9-0 as an amateur and then unbeaten in his first 11 pro fights, including a no contest vs. Alex Moreno in February 2017.

Since winning a second straight fight in July 2018 vs. Randy Brown, “The Hybrid” is 3-5 with another no contest and comes off a third-round TKO (punches) loss to Philip Rowe in December. Rowe was nearly finished early in the fight, but he blasted Price with a straight right hand in the third that wobbled Price and led to the finish.

The 6-foot Price has a reach of 76 inches and his fights average 8:31. He lands 5.48 significant strikes per minute with 42 per cent accuracy and absorbs 5.57 with 48 per cent defence. His takedown average is 0.70 per 15 minutes with 20 per cent accuracy, and his takedown defence is 64 per cent.

Price has 10 wins by KO/TKO, three by submission and two by decision. He is one of three fighters in UFC history to earn a knockout stemming from an upkick, doing it in October 2019 vs. James Vick. Jon Fitch and Irene Alana also won with the technique. Price has earned two of the six knockout victories in UFC history stemming from the bottom position.

For Saturday, his favoured method of victory is by KO/TKO/DQ at +115, followed by decision at +325 and submission at +750. The over-under is 2.5 rounds with the under a -175 favourite.
