  • Peter Queally +150

Peter Queally Bellator 285 Odds

Queally has 13 wins, six losses and one draw in a professional MMA career that began in 2012.  Currently ranked No. 7 in the Bellator lightweight division, he has also competed for Extreme Fighting Championship, BAMMA, Cage Warriors and Fight Nights Global.  The 33-year-old has 10 career wins via decision and three via knockout.

“The Showstopper’s” last two fights came against Patricky Freire in May 2021 and November 2021.  Queally won the May fight by doctor’s stoppage.  The vacant lightweight belt was on the line in the November rematch, but Queally lost the fight via second round TKO.  It was the first time Queally has ever been finished in his professional career.

Queally will have a large 4.5-inch reach advantage over Henderson.  He’s recently focused on a Muay Thai-type approach over his last few fights and he’ll often eat shots in order to land shots of his own.  That’s a dangerous approach against a veteran fighter like Henderson, so it will be interesting to see Queally’s strategy in this fight.

Benson Henderson Bellator 285 Odds

Henderson’s professional MMA career dates back to 2008.  In that time he has compiled a 29-11 record, including 15 wins via decision, nine via submission and five via knockout.  The 38-year-old is a former lightweight champion in both the UFC and WEC and is currently ranked No. 3 in the Bellator lightweight division.

“Smooth” has had a long career, recording wins against veteran MMA fighters such as Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Frankie Edgar, Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal.  He won the UFC lightweight championship in 2012 and successfully defended the belt three times.  Henderson has fought for both the Bellator lightweight and welterweight belts, but lost each challenge.  His last fight was a split decision win against Islam Mamedov at Bellator 273 in January.  The upset victory snapped a three-fight losing streak.

Henderson has fought just about every notable lightweight fighter in MMA during the 2010’s and he is still competing at a high level in his late 30s.  Coming off a huge victory, a win on Saturday could get the MMA veteran one last title shot.  Henderson has always had a reputation as a scrappy fighter who constantly comes forward, which has both helped and hurt him in the past.  Moving things to the ground, however, could be more beneficial against Queally.
