  • Neil Magny +470

Neil Magny UFC 292 Odds

The 36-year-old Magny grew up in New York and now fights out of Colorado. He is 28-10 and ranked 11th in the welterweight division – Leon Edwards is the champion. Magny is a US Army veteran who was once deployed in Kuwait. He is filling in Saturday for Geoff Neal, who had to withdraw due to injury.

“I know where I’m at mentally now and what I’m capable of,” Magny said this week of facing Garry. “Saturday night, it’s going to be almost hysterical watching him cry. Like, it’s gonna be that fun for me. It’s a great opportunity.”

“The Haitian Sensation” is a bit of a legend in the division as his 21 victories in UFC welterweight competition are most in divisional history and so is his total fight time of 6:17:34. He is one of only nine fighters in UFC history to reach 21 victories with the promotion.

Magny is 2-2 in his past four and comes off a split decision victory over Philip Rowe in June, and his 14 decision victories in UFC competition are the most in company history. Overall, he has 17 wins by decision, seven by KO/TKO and four by submission. On the flip side, he has six losses by submission, two by decision and two by KO/TKO.

The 6-foot-3 Magny has a huge reach of 80 inches and his fights average 12:35. He lands 3.52 significant strikes per minute with 46 per cent accuracy and absorbs 2.25 with 54 per cent defence. Magny has landed 1,329 significant strikes in UFC welterweight competition, the second most in divisional history behind Kamaru Usman (1,334). Magny’s takedown average is 2.30 per 15 minutes with 41 per cent accuracy, and his takedown defence is 56 percent.

For Saturday, his favoured method of victory is by decision at +800, followed by KO/TKO/DQ at +2000 and submission also at +2000. A draw is +6000.

Ian Machado Garry UFC 292 Odds

From Ireland, Garry is just 25 and is 12-0 in a pro career only dating back to 2019. He’s a former Cage Warriors welterweight champion and ranked No. 13 in the UFC division but with a bullet. To no surprise, the success of countryman Conor McGregor played a huge role in Garry choosing this line of work.

“The Future” is 5-0 since joining the UFC and last was in the Octagon in May, beating Daniel Rodriguez by first-round TKO (head kick and punches), earning Garry his first Performance of the Night award in the UFC. “I want the guy who has been known as the gatekeeper for the Top 10 for god knows how long. His name is Neil Magny,’ Garry said after that win. It was a twist of fortune that it happened.

He has seven wins by KO/TKO, four by decision and one by submission. There hasn’t been a fight where he was in major jeopardy of losing. Garry seems to think the crowd will be on his side (and he’s probably right): “I’m Irish. I’m fighting in Boston. They have a massive Irish contingent. I’ve just been in Brazil the last two and a half months, [and] the biggest contingent of Brazilians is in Massachusetts and Boston.”

The 6-foot-3 Garry has a reach of 74 inches and his fights average 10:28. He lands 3.52 significant strikes per minute with 46 per cent accuracy and absorbs 2.25 with 54 per cent defence. In UFC competition only, Garry lands 55.8 per cent of his significant strikes, the second-highest rate in divisional history behind Gunnar Nelson (60.5 per cent). He also lands 6.86 significant strikes per minute, the third-highest rate in divisional history. Garry’s takedown average is 2.30 per 15 minutes with 41 per cent accuracy, and his takedown defence is 56 per cent.

For Saturday, his favoured method of victory is by KO/TKO/DQ at +110, followed by decision at +250 and submission at +275. That the fight goes the distance is +145 with no at -175.
