These teams met already in Los Angeles back in mid-April, and the Dodgers swept the series, out-scoring the Mets 14-3.
These teams have had to play tough opponents out of the gates since the all-star break, and coincidentally, the Mets and Dodgers both managed to take two of three in Philadelphia earlier this week. The Dodgers also took two of three in New York against the Yankees, while the Mets lost two of three in Milwaukee against the Brewers.
Interestingly enough, the Dodgers have actually been brutal against the runline, failing to cover 58 times. Moreover, they have profiled as an under team (55 times). The Mets have been equally as bad against the run line, also failing to cover 58 times.

Not only have the Dodgers owned the Mets in recent meetings, but they have owned Sean Manaea, who gets the start for New York.
The left-hander is sporting a 4.74 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP, and on top of that, the Dodgers are hitting .287 with a .980 OPS in 143 career at-bats against him, including six doubles, two triples and 13 home runs.
Mookie Betts is 10-for-36 with seven extra base-hits. Tommy Edman is 4-for-5 with two long balls and a double. Max Muncy has two home runs in nine tries, and Kyle Tucker has eight hits with four dingers in 22 at-bats. Manea figures to have a long night ahead of him.
I’m truly surprised how close to even money the Dodgers’ price is in this game. Yes, Roki Sasaki has mostly struggled this season, pitching to a 4.98 ERA and a 5.4 mark away from home, but the Mets have never seen him – advantage Sasaki.
Furthermore, his first start in NY after the break went very well, clocking 102 MPH while throwing 5.2 scoreless innings. Maybe it’s a sign of a turnaround.
New York Mets
What’s going on with the Mets? Not much good. Luis Robert Jr. just came back from injury a couple of games ago, but it could be too little too late.
Juan Soto has been his typically amazing self, rocking a .944 OPS. Outside of him, no other Met has an OPS north of .775.
Many of the guys they depend on, such as Francisco Lindor, Marcus Semien, Bo Bichette, Mark Vientos and Robert Jr. all toggle between a .606 and .712 OPS.
The Mets have played uninspired baseball all year. I’m not sure I see that changing in this game.
MLB Prediction: Who Will Win Dodgers vs. Mets?
The Dodgers are tops in OPS on the road, seventh in OPS against LHP and have historically crushed Manaea. The Mets rank 28th in OPS against RHP, 24th in OPS at home and have never seen Sasaki.
Why are the Dodgers only -136 on the moneyline? I’ll take it.
