Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Houston Astros: Odds, Prediction

Monday’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers (21-13) and the Houston Astros (14-21) kicks off a three-game set at Daikin Park. The Dodgers snapped a four-game skid with a 4-1 win in St. Louis against the Cardinals on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Astros took two of three games at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox, marking the first time they’ve won back-to-back games in three weeks.

Last season, the Dodgers’ three-game series against the Astros didn’t fare too well, as the Dodgers were swept at Dodger Stadium on Fourth of July weekend. We’ll break down Monday’s matchup and provide a best bet for the game as well.

L.A. is a -210 favourite to win on the MLB odds, with the total set at 9.0.

Betting Analysis

Runs have been more scarce on the road than at home for the Dodgers, as the game total for Los Angeles has gone under in four of the last five games. Additionally, the game total has gone under in five of the last six road games for the Dodgers, and in five of seven games at Daikin Park against the Astros.

Something may have to give here with the Astros, as the game total has gone over in 10 of the last 15 games for Houston. In the Astros’ last six home games, the total has gone over in each game.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are 5-5 in their last 10 games, but have been very lopsided to get to that point. Looking to right the ship, Los Angeles will trot World Series hero Yoshinobu Yamamoto for his turn in the rotation. Yamamoto is 2-2 on the young campaign with a 32-to-9 strikeout-to-walk ratio in six starts.

The recent story for Los Angeles is that the bats have gone cold over the last five days, as they haven’t scored more than four runs in that span and have not hit a home run in the past six games. Adding to that funk is Shohei Ohtani, the star slugger for the Dodgers, in a four-game hitless streak. That’s his longest such streak in four seasons.

Houston Astros

Opposing Yamamoto for the Astros is reliever Steven Okert, who will operate as an opener for the team to help bridge the gap in Houston’s starting rotation. Using Monday’s game with a committee approach definitely benefits the opposing Dodgers.

Houston has been carried by two bats in particular: OF Yordan Alvarez and 1B Christian Walker. Both are hitting over .317 on the campaign, with Alvarez (1.097 OPS) mashing 12 home runs and 27 RBI thus far. Walker is just shy of a 1.000 OPS (.975) and has eight roundtrippers and 26 RBI so far in 2026.

MLB Prediction: Who Will Win Dodgers vs. Astros?

The Dodgers have struggled to score runs, but the Astros are bringing in an opener to start, so something has to give here in the run-scoring department for both teams. Luckily, the confluence of factors with Houston’s opener and one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball that the Astros will have to tap into to get through this game makes the Dodgers an attractive bet to snap out of their funk.

Look for Los Angeles to snap out of their funk and get some bats on balls against a depleted Houston pitching staff with the worst ERA (5.91) and highest HR/9 (1.43) in Major League Baseball.

Best Bet: Over 9. total runs (-102)
