Every MLB team will be in action on Friday, which will include an interleague matchup between the Atlanta Braves and the Baltimore Orioles at 7:05 p.m. ET from Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland.

You can bet on Baltimore +1.5 at odds of -200, while betting on Atlanta -1.5 carries odds of +164.

The total has been set at nine runs, and the odds are at an even -110 for both the over and under at the time of writing. 

There are a couple trends to note in this contest. Atlanta is 4-1 SU in their last five games, while the under is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings between these teams. Moreover, the under is 7-1 in the last eight meetings played in Baltimore.

Atlanta Braves

Atlanta enters this game with a record of 60-42 and is currently in first place in the National League East division. The Braves are coming off a series win against the San Diego Padres and are 5-2 since the season restarted post all-star break.

Set to start for the Braves in Game 1 will be Grant Holmes, who has a record of 6-4 and an ERA of 3.70. The good news for Holmes is that he has been much more consistent when pitching on the road this season. In nine road appearances (eight starts), Holmes has posted an ERA of 3.25 and has allowed 17 runs (16 earned) over 44.1 innings.

Baltimore Orioles

Baltimore enters this game with a record of 50-53 and is currently in fourth place in the American League East division. The Orioles are coming off a series loss to the Boston Red Sox and are 4-2 since the break.

Friday’s starter for Baltimore will be Trevor Rodgers, who has a record of 6-7 and an ERA of 4.28. Things haven’t been any easier when Rodgers pitches at home, seeing that he has posted an ERA of 4.66. In 11 home starts this season, Rodgers has allowed 30 earned runs over 58.0 innings.

MLB Prediction: Who Will Win Braves vs. Orioles?

Despite the Braves being the slight underdogs, they still look to be the best betting option. Atlanta’s offence has looked much better after the break, as they are averaging 6.9 runs per game over the last seven games. Atlanta’s offence is now the sixth-best scoring unit in the league, while Baltimore ranks 12th in the same category and is averaging 4.2 runs per game over their last six games. 

On top of that, Rodgers’ struggles for the Orioles – specifically at home – make him difficult to trust. Not to say that Holmes is the most reliable pitcher, but he is much more consistent when pitching on the road. For that reason, backing the Atlanta Braves to win by a score of 5-3 is the move.
