Blue Jays vs. Orioles MLB Betting Odds, Picks: Trey Yesavage returning for Toronto
The Toronto Blue Jays open their final road series of the 2026 regular season facing nothing short of a must-win game Monday night in Baltimore. But the Orioles are short -112 favourites on the MLB odds with a total of 7.5 runs.

It’s pretty much win out or miss the postseason for both these teams entering Monday’s series opener. The Chicago White Sox (80-76) of the AL Central currently hold the AL’s final Wild-Card spot by three games over Toronto (77-79) and Houston (77-79), with Baltimore (75-81) five back.
The Blue Jays are +1800 to reach the playoffs and close with three at home vs. Cincinnati this weekend. The Orioles are +10000, need a miracle and could be eliminated as soon as Tuesday – this is one of only three games around the majors on the final Monday of the regular season. Baltimore closes with three at the New York Yankees, who should be locked into their playoff seed this weekend.
Toronto leads this season series 6-4 so would win any head-to-head tiebreaker by simply taking one of the three games at Camden Yards. Blue Jays rookie Kazuma Okamoto has had a big season series against Baltimore at 11-for-34 with three homers, two doubles, six runs scored and eight RBIs.
Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays saved their season temporarily on Sunday with a 7-2 win at Texas to avoid a three-game sweep. However, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. exited early because of left lower back tightness, so that’s a concern. Myles Straw entered the game in his place in the lineup but at left field.
And potentially more bad injury news in that ace Dylan Cease, the likely AL Cy Young runner-up, won’t make his scheduled Wednesday start due to some issues in his pitching shoulder.
Rookie right-hander Trey Yesavage (5-5, 3.65 ERA) will be activated off the injured list to start on the mound Monday for the first time in the majors since Aug. 4. The 23-year-old has been on and off the IL all season. He made a rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo last Tuesday and allowed two runs while throwing 34 pitches.
Yesavage is expected to have a limit of 50 pitches. Not clear who might follow him as the original main candidate was Spencer Miles, but he threw three innings Sunday.
Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles’ playoff chances basically ended over the weekend when they were swept three at home by the Milwaukee Brewers, the team with the best record in the majors. The Orioles didn’t score in the final two games.
One bright spot Sunday was the season debut of former All-Star closer Felix Bautista off major surgery. It’s about time to look toward 2027, and first-year manager Craig Albernaz will return in 2027 per president of baseball operations Mike Elias.
On the mound Monday is right-hander Shane Baz (6-15, 4.11 ERA). He is tied for the big-league lead in losses but gets among the worst run support of any starter in the majors.
Baz’s lone start this year against the Jays was June 7 at Rogers Centre and he took the loss, allowing five runs but just one earned over 5.2 innings. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (if he plays) has had some career success against Baz at 5-for-18 with a homer.
