Trey Yesavage

After just three career regular season starts, Wednesday will mark Yesavage’s fifth start of the playoffs and second of the World Series.

“Each day I learn something new,” said Yesavage before Game 4. “I take something away from my game or someone else’s game. So, just stacking all those days up this entire season has led me to this point.”

Yesavage is 2-1 with a 4.26 ERA in 19 innings of playoff baseball, with all four previous starts coming at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

The 22-year-old started Game 1 of the World Series, allowing two runs on four hits with three walks in four innings of work. Toronto chased Dodgers starter Blake Snell after five innings before lighting up L.A.’s bullpen in an 11-4 win.

Snell will also be back on the mound for Game 5, which is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Oddsmakers, however, are still clearly not sold on the Blue Jays. Toronto entered Game 4 as +180 series underdogs, but following a 6-2 win, the line has only shrunk to +155, with the Dodgers at -190.

If you’re a Blue Jays backer, that’s a pretty good number considering the series is now a best-of-three, with Games 6 and 7 played in Toronto.
