The Masters 2020 Odds: Tiger Woods Props, Predictions

After this week’s Masters Tournament at Augusta National, golf fans and bettors will not see Tiger Woods again in an official PGA Tour event until late January 2021 most likely, so enjoy Woods this weekend at the event that means most to him.

Tiger looks to tie Jack Nicklaus with a record six Masters victories and could become the first player to win the tournament back-to-back years twice. It already has been 19 months since Tiger’s memorable victory in April 2019; he also repeated in 2002. His other green jackets game in 2005 and that historic 1997 rout.

Woods opened at +3000 to win this year on the golf odds but probably will be bet down pretty significantly as he always draws heavy action with his popularity. I don’t happen to think he has much of a chance at winning, however. He’s +2000 to finish as the top American.

Tiger vs. NFL Star Among Options

There are plenty of other props involving Tiger. He’s +500 on a yes-only wagered to have a bogey-free round. Needless to say, that’s very tough to accomplish. Woods had at least one bogey in every round a year ago and a total of nine. That he gets an eagle in any round is +135 with no at -189. Tiger didn’t have an eagle in 2019.

Could Woods shoot 70 or under in each round at the par 72? That a yes-only at +1000. He did it in 2019 with rounds of 70-68-67-70 but has only accomplished it a couple of other times at Augusta. To make the cut, Tiger is -360 and no +239. The only time he missed it at the Masters was way back in 1996.

To Make The Cut - Tiger Woods
  • Yes -301
  • No +190

One of those best-known holes at Augusta National is the par-3 12th called Golden Bell.  Many a tournament has been lost by hitting into the water of Rae’s Creek on the course’s shortest par 3 at 155 yards. That Woods finds the water in any round at the 12th is +275 with no at -435.

To lead Round 1, Tiger is priced +3300. That’s often his worst round at the tournament, breaking 70 only in 2010 and with a high score of 76 in 2003. For a Top-10 finish overall, Tiger is +300. He has 14 of those at the Masters.

Round One Leader
  • Tiger Woods +3300

Woods is the third-favorite to finish highest among former winners, priced +450 behind Patrick Reed (+300; won in 2018) and Bubba Watson (+330; won in 2014 & ’12).

However, this writer loves cross-sports props, and you can get Tiger’s Round 1 total strokes at +150 vs. total yards rushing for the Tennessee Titans’ Derrick Henry (-213) on Thursday night in NFL action against the Indianapolis Colts.

2020 US Masters Cross Sports Props

Specials - Woods Rd 1 Strokes v Henry Rushing Yards
  • Derrick Henry Total Rushing Yards -250
  • Tiger Woods Rd 1 Strokes +175

Henry was the 2019 rushing champion and is second in the league this year in averaging 105.4 yards per game. He faces a Colts defense that ranks third in the NFL in allowing just 83.6 yards per game. One figures Woods has a maximum first-round score of 75 or so. Henry has topped that (tied it once) in five of eight games in 2020.

Tiger Woods Prop Picks

Woods will miss the cut but not finish under 70 in all four rounds nor have a bogey-free round. He will have an eagle but not hit into the water on the 12th. I don’t happen to like Woods for a Top 10 or top American, but it’s worth a shot at +450 for top former winner. Several of those former winners have no shot at beating out Tiger. Bet the Titans’ Henry on the cross-sport prop because all he needs is to pop one long run, and it’s not like Henry ever gets injured.
