FedEx St. Jude Odds Shockers: Who Can Stop Scottie Scheffler’s Playoff Rampage?
Everyone on the PGA Tour has been battling all season long for a coveted spot in the 70-man postseason competition. From there, the playoff field will be cut to 50 at next week’s BMW Championship before the final 30 punch their tickets to the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Because the FedEx St. Jude Championship is a playoff event, most of the PGA’s top stars are taking their talents to Memphis. That includes the current leader in the FedEx Cup standings, Scottie Scheffler. No. 2 Rory McIlroy, however, is skipping the tournament.
FedEx St. Jude Championship Golf Odds
Here is the shortlist of favourites to win on the FedEx St. Jude Championship odds board:
- Scottie Scheffler +300
- Xander Schauffele +1400
- Tommy Fleetwood +2200
- Hideki Matsuyama +2500
- Justin Thomas +2500
- Ludvig Aberg +2500
- Matt Fitzpatrick +2500
- Russell Henley +2500
- Patrick Cantlay +2800
- Viktor Hovland +3000
- Collin Morikawa +3300
- Sam Burns +3300
- Aaron Rai +4000
- Ben Griffin +4000
- Cameron Young +4000
Unsurprisingly, Scheffler is a massive favourite to lift the trophy in Memphis. The top-ranked player in the world captured two more major titles this season, most recently triumphing at the British Open.
With McIlroy on the sidelines, Xander Schauffele is the second favourite ahead of Tommy Fleetwood, Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Thomas, Ludvig Aberg, Matt Fitzpatrick and Russell Henley. Plenty of betting value can be found further down the list, where you have challengers such as Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa, U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley and Wyndham Championship winner Cameron Young.
FedEx St. Jude Championship Best Bet: Hideki Matsuyama to win at +2500 odds
Why can’t players with dramatic pauses in their backswings go back-to-back? After Young rolled to victory at the Wyndham Championship this past Sunday, it could be Matsuyama’s time in Memphis. For starters, Matsuyama is the defending champion of the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He also finished runner-up at TPC Southwind when the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational was played there in 2021. In other words, Matsuyama absolutely loves this course.
The 33-year-old from Japan is playing well right now, too, having turned in three straight top-20 efforts. He went 66-67-67 in the final three rounds of the Wyndham Championship. Matsuyama kicked off this season with a title at The Sentry in Hawaii; don’t be surprised if his second triumph comes near the very end of the year.
FedEx St. Jude Championship Prediction: Corey Conners to win at +4000 odds
Corey Conners is a model of consistency. The 33-year-old Canadian has not missed a single cut since the second tournament of the season in Hawaii. There is a lot of upside to Conners, as well. His 10th-place performance at the British Open marked his sixth top 10 of the 2025 campaign.
Although Conners has not won since the Valero Texas Open in April 2023, there is no reason why he can’t end the drought in Memphis. The world No. 25 finished tied for sixth at this tournament in 2023, when he closed with back-to-back 65s.
FedEx St. Jude Championship Longshot Pick: Rickie Fowler to win at +9000 odds
If you are in the business of a longshot pick, why not take a flyer on Fowler? The 36-year-old American has missed just two cuts this entire season, so he is giving himself chances to succeed. Fowler is a veteran who knows what it takes to get the job done under pressure, such as in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
