Did Wayne Really Threaten to Stop Dustin Johnson-Paulina Gretzky Wedding?

Wayne Gretzky reportedly doesn’t think much of Dustin Johnson’s hard-partying past and has threatened to call off the golfer’s upcoming wedding to model Paulina Gretzky if he doesn’t shape up.

A Fox411 report states the Great One had a one-on-one conversation with Johnson before the 30-year-old announced his indefinite leave from the PGA tour to “seek professional help for personal challenges.”

Since then, the story has taken on a life of its own.

One source says Johnson has failed at least three drug tests and he’s also been linked in romantic relationships with a couple of PGA players’ wives.

“He’s had drug problems for a while and the PGA always tried to keep it on the low. But because of his high-profile relationship, people figured it would come out sooner or later,” the source told Golf.com.

Johnson reportedly tested positive for cocaine in 2014, which was apparently his third positive drug test.

Of course, all of this is speculative at this point. While one could see Gretzky stepping in to speak to Johnson about these issues, this report stems from an anonymous source. Gretzky has never spoken much to the media about family matters, so it’s unlikely he’ll address this publicly anyway.

When it comes down to it, Johnson made the right move to step away from the game if he’s dealing with any type of personal issues – whether they’re drug-related or otherwise. He’s becoming a very public figure now that he’s engaged to Paulina and needs to understand what that entails and keep his private life private.

Otherwise, he’s going to butt heads with the Great One eventually. Gretzky won’t stand to have his family tied to the tabloids, so maybe this is the wakeup call Johnson needs to get it together.
