2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am: PGA Tour Betting Odds
Much like Americans in cold-weather cities always look forward to the Masters because it’s the start of spring, they also always love to tune in and see spectacular Pebble Beach in the middle of winter, although it’s one of two courses in this rotation. There used to be three but now it will be Pebble Beach Golf Links (par 72; 6,972 yards) and Spyglass Hill Golf Club (par 72; 7,041 yards) with Monterey Peninsula Country Club (par 71; 6,957 yards) now out of the rotation. They pros will play one round each the first two days at Pebble and Spyglass and then the weekend at Pebble.
Thus, instead of the usual 54-hole cut where those in attendance at the event could watch the amateur celebrities on Saturday as well, now it will be a standard 36-hole cut for the amateurs and pros. It also has changed from 156 two-person teams to 80. That’s because this has been designated as one of eight signature tournaments offering a purse of $20 million with a limited field and no cut along with elevated FedEx Cup points (750 for the winner compared to 500 at regular events).
“If you turned it around and we were never a pro-am and the Tour said, hey, guys, guess what? We’re going to give you two days of a pro-am, Thursday and Friday. We would be elated,” said Steve John, CEO and tournament director of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, the non-profit that runs the tournament at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill. “Yes, we’re two days instead of three, possibly four, but it’s going to be a darn good two days. The experience for the amateurs will be the best ever.”
Last year, we saw the likes of NFL stars Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen, soccer superstar Gareth Bale and plenty of actors (always Bill Murray) and musicians in the amateur portion. Some celebrities may skip with the new format as it places a much bigger emphasis on the PGA players, but committed among athletes are former NFL players Tom Brady, Alex Smith and Larry Fitzgerald, former MLB All-Star Buster Posey and ex-NBA All-Star Pau Gasol.
In recent years, the tournament has struggled to attract an elite field but that’s not the case in 2024, of course excluding the LIV players. McIlroy will play his first event in the States this year. The PGA Tour has lost another guy to LIV this week, though, in Tyrrell Hatton.
The defending champion is England’s Justin Rose, who finished at 18-under 269 and three ahead of Americans Brendon Todd and Brandon Wu. It was a Monday finish due to weather, ended a four-year victory drought for Rose and was his 11th career PGA Tour victory and 23rd title worldwide.
Rose was the first-ever player from Europe to win the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The former U.S. Open champion and world No. 1 hasn’t won since and is +6600 this week. The last repeat winner was Dustin Johnson (now with LIV) in 2010.

Bet on Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf
Rory McIlroy is the +800 favourite and has had a strong start to the 2024 season. He made his debut at the Dubai Desert Classic, where he finished in second place. Then he won the next week at the Dubai Invitational. McIlroy hasn’t played this tournament since 2018 when he missed the cut but did finish ninth at the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble.
Scottie Scheffler is +850 with Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele both +1200, and Jordan Spieth and Max Home each +1800. The world No. 1 Scheffler is making his debut in this event. His only prior professional experience at Pebble Beach came when he missed the cut in that 2019 U.S. Open. Hovland won the 2018 U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach and then was low amateur at the 2019 U.S. Open at the course.
Schauffele missed the cut the last time he played the tournament in 2017 and comes off a T9 on Sunday at the Farmers Insurance Open. Spieth won the tournament in 2017 and was runner-up in 2022 to Tom Hoge. Homa comes off a T13 as the Farmers Insurance Open as defending champion and has a couple of Top 10s here but no victory.
Nick Dunlap, who won the American Express two weeks ago as an amateur, has officially turned pro for this tournament and is +9000.
Canadian golfers have had success at this event with a few runners-up and Nick Taylor’s win in 2020 when he finished at 19-under 268. Taylor Pendrith was the top finisher last year at T7, while Nick Taylor was T20. Michael Gligic and Ben Silverman missed the cut. Adam Hadwin and Corey Conners are +8000 this week with Nick Taylor +9000, Adam Svensson +12500 and Mackenzie Hughes +15000.
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Predictions
Our winner at +5000 is American Beau Hossler. He has been 11th and third here the past two years and comes off a T6 at the Farmers Insurance Open on Sunday.
