Woods has competed in 24 of the last 28 Masters Tournaments, missing the cut just once in 1996.  He debuted at the Masters as a 19-year-old in 1995, finishing T-41, the only amateur to make the cut. Woods went on to win the first of five Masters Tournaments in 1997 and became just the third golfer ever to win back-to-back Masters titles in 2001 and 2002.

All told, Woods won Maters titles in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2019. His five victories at Augusta is second-most all-time, trailing Jack Nicklaus’ six. Woods has finished within the top-10 14 times and within the top-five nine times.

Of course, Woods’ most memorable connection to the Masters is a dramatic chip-in shot on the 16th hole in the final round in the 2005 tournament. Sitting off to the left side of the green after his tee shot on the par-3, Woods sat about 16 feet from the pin. He chipped well to the left, letting the slope roll the ball slowly to the hole. After appearing to come up just short, the ball eventually dropped. Woods went on to win the tournament in a playoff.

It’s been a tough four years since Woods last won the Masters in 2019. After a car crash nearly ended his career, Woods bounced back and played his first tournament in over 500 days at last year’s Masters. He didn’t win the tournament, but he did mange to make the cut. Woods finished T-47 at 13-over par, 23 shots behind winner Scottie Scheffler.

The 47-year-old has only competed in one tournament this year, the Genesis Invitational in February. He finished T-45 at one-under par, 16 shots back of winner Jon Rahm. This is clearly not the same Tiger who won 15 majors in his career, but with more prep than he had in 2022, he should have a good shot to at least make the cut at Augusta again this year.

One of the more fun golf props for any tournament, is a hole-in-one. There have been 33 hole-in-ones in the history of the Masters, with 23 coming on the par-3 16th.

As technology has advanced and golfers have improved, aces have become more common. Between the first tournament in 1934 and 2000, there were just 14 hole-in-ones. Since 2000, there have been 19 aces. There were multiple hole-in-ones in 2004 (three), 2010 (two), 2012 (two), 2016 (three), 2019 (two) and 2021 (two).

After accomplishing just about everything in his career, can Woods also add an ace at the Masters?
