Tiger-Cats vs. Roughriders Prediction: CFL Week 6 Point Spread, Odds

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats begin life without the services of veteran quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell when they visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday evening in CFL Week 6 betting action at Mosaic Stadium.

The Tabbies lost Mitchell to an ankle injury in last week’s 14-13 loss to Winnipeg that snapped a two-game win streak, and the 36-year-old’s season could be done after he underwent surgery earlier this week.

The defending Grey Cup champion Roughriders return home after closing out a three-game road trip with last week’s 27-22 win in Ottawa, and will be looking for a victory to keep pace in the CFL West with the surprising first-place Edmonton Elks.

The Roughriders have vaulted to 8.5-point favourites on the CFL Week 6 odds. The Tiger-Cats trail as lengthy +310 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is listed at 53.5.

CFL Odds and Betting

The Riders swept last year’s two-game season series with Hamilton, capped by a decisive 29-9 home victory as 3.5-point chalk to extend their current head-to-head win streak to four games, both straight up and against the spread.

The Riders have scored 29+ points in three of their four recent wins, but have claimed victory by at least a touchdown just twice over that stretch. Hard-fought contests have been commonplace for the defending champs in the early going of 2026, with their four games to date getting settled by an average margin of just 4.5 points.

Accordingly, the Riders have failed to cover in their past two outings, but have seen the OVER consistently pay out, going 3-1 in totals betting.

The Ti-Cats looked poised to defending their CFL East crown after averaging 39 points in consecutive wins before last week, but the loss of Mitchell changes everything.

In addition to snapping a two-game win streak, last week’s defeat also halted a 3-0 run for the OVER. However, Mitchell’s injury has yet to impact the Ti-Cats’ position on the Grey Cup odds, where they trail only the Riders and Montreal as a +550 bet.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

With Bo Levi Mitchell on the shelf, the Tiger-Cats will turn the ball over to Jake Dolegala. The former Riders’ pivot has not made a start since his forgettable performance for the BC Lions in a 33-16 loss to Edmonton in Week 10 of the 2024 campaign, and has not made a scoring pass since seeing action in 13 games with Saskatchewan in 2023.

However, he has carried the ball 14 times for three scores so far this season. In fact, the Tiger-Cats backfield now face the challenge of filling the void left by Mitchell’s injury.

So far this season, Hamilton rushers have been used sparingly outside the redzone, apart from Larry Rountree III. The former LA Chargers running back is the lone Hamilton rusher with more than 23 yards so far this season, racking up 254 rushing yards to date, but has yet to score.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Riders got off to a sleepy start last week in Ottawa, spotting the RedBlacks an early 10-0 lead before roaring back to claim a 27-22 victory. Trevor Harris tossed for a pair of scores while compiling 243 yards on middling 18-for-31 passing with one pick.

However, he enjoyed excellent chemistry with receiver KeeSean Johnson, who pulled in nine of 10 targets for 137 receiving yards and one score. But it was Mathew Sexton who blew the game open for the Riders with a 101-yard punt return for a TD that gave the Riders a lead they would not relinquish.

The Saskatchewan backfield should get a lift this weekend from the return of AJ Ouelette. The 30-year-old star rusher has missed the past two games with an ankle injury suffered in Week 3 after racking up 153 rushing yards over his first two appearances of the campaign.
