Tiger-Cats vs. Lions Prediction: CFL Week 11 Point Spread, Odds
Earlier this month, the B.C. Lions outplayed the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in one of their best road showings of the season – and came away with nothing. The Lions will look to atone for their brutal one-point loss in Hamilton back on Aug. 10 as they host the East Division leaders Saturday night at BC Place. The Lions led that one 34-19 early in the fourth quarter, only to watch Hamilton score 16 unanswered points to complete the stunning comeback.
CFL Odds and Betting
B.C. comfortably covered as 8.5-point underdogs when these teams last met at Tim Hortons Field, so you could understand bettors being on board the Lions +3.5 line in the friendly confines of BC Place. But as of mid-week, nearly two-thirds of Sports Interaction bettors are taking the visitors and giving points – and that might be due in part to the fact that BC is just 2-10 ATS in its past 12 games overall, even with its impressive cover in Week 9.
While the spread is at least understandable given that Hamilton has to travel to the West Coast for this one, the total might seem confounding to some bettors. It’s sitting at 47, just two weeks after the teams combined to rack up 69 points at Tim Hortons Field; bettors are loading up on the over play, with 78 percent taking the O47. It doesn’t hurt, either, that the teams have gone a sizzling 9-1 O/U in their previous 10 encounters in Vancouver.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The 2018 season was a difficult one for the Tiger-Cats when it came to road games played outside the Eastern Time Zone; they went just 1-4 SU in those contests, though three of those losses came by six or fewer points. Look for Hamilton to prioritize slowing down Lions running back John White, who erupted for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 25 attempts in the Aug. 10 defeat; White enters the week ranked fifth in the league in rushing yards (506).
BC Lions
The Lions’ issues are too numerous to list in this paragraph, but defence has been a particular sore spot for the West Division’s last-place team. B.C. enters Week 11 having surrendered a league-high 308 points, though there may be some help on the way in that regard. The Lions added defensive lineman Jonathan Newsome and defensive back Oshane Samuels to the roster this week as they look to avoid giving up 30+ points for a sixth straight time.
