Tiger-Cats vs. Blue Bombers Prediction: CFL Week 2 Point Spread, Odds
The Blue Bombers are -2.5 on the CFL odds with a total of 51.5 points.
CFL Week 2 Odds and Betting
Week 1 around the CFL saw all three road teams win and cover the spread, although two of the three were decided by three points or fewer. All three games landed over their respective totals. Are we looking at a high-scoring season or was it just a fluke?
The Ticats and Blue Bombers will conclude their 2026 season series quite quickly with Winnipeg visiting Hamilton in Week 5 and that’s it. The Bombers have won three of the past four in the series, including a 40-3 home blowout victory last year. Winnipeg had 514 yards of offence with QB Zach Collaros completing 20-of-25 for 376 yards and a TD. Chris Streveler scored three rushing touchdowns. It was the Ticats’ worst margin of victory in 2025 by far.
“Going to their place, great place to play a team with a championship pedigree. I think our guys remember what happened the last time we went there a year ago, so a great challenge for us,” Ticats head coach Scott Milanovich told the media this week about his team returning there. He coached Collaros with the Toronto Argonauts over a decade ago.
Winnipeg is 5-1 ATS in the past six home meetings.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Hamilton was a 2.5-point home underdog in Week 1 and lost to Montreal, 30-27 in OT – blowing a 24-10 lead midway through the third quarter. Everything changed when the Alouettes’ Robert Kennedy intercepted a pass and returned it 54 yards for a touchdown. Maltos Diaz forced overtime with a 29-yard field goal on the final play of regulation and then won it with a 19-yard kick in OT. In that session, Kennedy also forced Hamilton’s Keric Wheatfall to fumble near the sideline on the Ticats’ opening possession. Bo Levi Mitchell was 34-of-39 passing for 307 yards and an interception in a losing effort. Hamilton still hasn’t won a season opener since 2019. Wheatfall had six catches for 46 yards in his Ticats debut after spending the past two seasons in Winnipeg. Rookie linebacker Jordan Crook was thrust into the starting lineup in his debut due to injury and had five tackles and one pass knockdown. The Ticats are 2-5 ATS in their past seven overall.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Projected Winnipeg to lose close at Calgary to open the season last Friday but it won close, 30-28, after going 0-3 in the season series last year. The Blue Bombers trailed by a point with 64 seconds remaining in Week 1, but QB Zach Collaros got his team into position for the winning field-goal attempt. Sergio Castillo connected from 38 yards out as time expired. Collaros was OK, completing 17 of 28 passes for 233 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Tailback Brady Oliveira rushed 15 times for 113 yards and a TD while catching three passes. He moved past Gerry James into fifth spot on the franchise’s all-time rushing list at 5,594 yards. Former Hamilton wideout Tim White had five catches for 60 yards and a TD in his team debut, while defensive lineman Jake Ceresna also played his first game with the Blue Bombers and had five tackles and three sacks. The Winnipeg defence allowed 21 first-half points but only seven in the second. A few players were dinged up, but it doesn’t appear any key starters will miss this week with a quick turnaround in the home opener. The Blue Bombers are 5-1 SU in their past six at home.
