The Alouettes have already clinched second place in the CFL East standings while winning each of their past four games, and will host Hamilton once again in next weekend’s CFL East semi-final. The Tiger-Cats clinched third place in the East with a 22-15 win over Calgary, back in Week 17, and arrive in Montreal vying for their sixth victory in seven road contests.

CFL Week 21 Odds and Betting

Saturday afternoon’s matchup at Percival Molson Stadium marks the third meeting between these CFL East rivals so far this season. The Alouettes have dominated Hamilton while winning and covering in five straight clashes, and limited the Ti-Cats to just 26 total points while rolling to a pair of victories in Hamilton by double-digit margins earlier this season. Overall, Hamilton has averaged less than 15 points per game over its past four dates with the Als. That has helped maintain a steady 7-2 run for the UNDER when these teams meet. While Montreal has experienced plenty of rain and cloud this week, the forecast for game time on Sunday calls for sunny skies and temperatures hovering in the very comfortable mid-teens Celsius.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

While Saturday’s contest is meaningless in terms of the CFL standings and playoff matchups, the Tiger-Cats will be eager to maintain their momentum on the road, and make a rewrite a losing narrative against the Als prior to next week’s CFL East semi-final tilt. Currently pegged as a lengthy +1200 bet on the 2023 Grey Cup odds, the Ti-Cats have increasingly flashed playoff form during a 5-3 SU run that has featured losses only to powerhouses Toronto and BC. Indeed, this team showed character while hanging tough with the Lions in last weekend’s 33-30 defeat, and have clearly overcome their early-season scoring woes while averaging 28.5 points per game over their past eight outings. But while the Tiger-Cats would certainly prefer to prepare for next week’s return engagement in Montreal by halting their current 0-5 head-to-head slide, it remains unclear how many regulars will see action. However, with the team eager to get him some playing time since his return from a leg injury, Bo Levi Mitchell is a goof bet to see action under centre after 13 of 18 passes for 135 yards with two touchdowns versus BC.

Montreal Alouettes

The Alouettes return home looking to maintain the intensity that has earned them four straight wins after extending that streak with a decisive 35-21 win in Edmonton two weeks ago. The Als have averaged an impressive 31 points per game during their 4-0 run, and prior to the early 14-3 lead they spotted the Elks last time out, they shutout opponents in the first quarter in each of their three previous games. Overall, the Als defence has allowed just 12.5 points per game during their 4-0 run. That marks a massive improvement after giving up 35.8 points per game during a preceding four-game slide. However, it is tough to overlook that their four recent wins came against inferior opponents while their four preceding losses came against Winnipeg, BC, and Toronto. So, what version of this team will show up as the competition stiffens? While Cody Fajardo is likely to see some action on Saturday, fans should not be surprised to also see Caleb Evans under centre. Evans has not looked out of place while appearing in 12 games this season, tossing for 543 yards and four scores, and adding 178 rushing yards.
