Stampeders vs. Tiger-Cats Prediction: CFL Week 9 Point Spread, Odds
The Stamps are coming off a decisive 52-30 victory in Winnipeg that marks their second victory in three road dates so far this season, but remain six points back of first-place Edmonton and two points out of a playoff spot in the CFL West. The Tiger-Cats return home on the rebound from a lopsided 31-18 loss in Montreal that marks their third defeat in four outings, leaving them with a 3-4-0 record and deadlocked with Toronto in the hunt for second place in the CFL East.
The Stampeders lead the way as 4.5-point road favourites on the CFL Week 9 odds. The Ti-Cats lag as lengthy +395 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is listed at 59.5.
CFL Odds and Betting
The Stampeders swept last year’s two-game season series with the Ti-Cats, capped by a 37-20 win in Hamilton last October, and defeated the Tabbies by an average margin of 14.5 points in those contests. The Stamps have maintained those high-scoring ways through the first half of the 2026 CFL campaign, and lead the CFL by far with 39.7 points per game. Not surprisingly, that has generated a boon for CFL totals bettors taking the OVER, which has paid out in eight straight contests since last November. However, Calgary’s defence is ranked eighth in the CFL and the squad has struggled against the spread, going 3-4-0 this season and just 1-4-0 as a betting underdog. Still smarting from the loss of veteran quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell to an ankle injury, the Tiger-Cats have struggled to generate offence during their current 1-3-0 SU slide, averaging just 15.3 points per game over that stretch while seeing the UNDER pay out in each of those contests. The loss of Micthell and the team’s subsequent swoon is reflected on the grey Cup odds, where they lead only Ottawa as a +4000 bet. Conversely, the high-scoring Stampeders closely trail the favourites as a +450 wager.
Calgary Stampeders
The Stampeders arrive in the Hammer sporting the CFL’s most productive attack, and Vernon Adams Jr. deserves much of the credit. The Stamps quarterback has been spectacular over the past month, tossing 18 total TD passes over his past five outings, highlighted by a sensational six-touchdown performance in the squad’s 58-36 rout of the Argonauts earlier this month. In addition to his 20 total TDs this season, Adams has racked up a respectable 1984 passing yards and has yet to toss a pick. Adams has also developed impressive chemistry with his favourite target Jalen Philpot, who leads the squad with 535 receiving yards including a season-best 128-yard performance last week in Winnipeg, and has made five scoring catches over the past five games. In addition, Dedrick Mills leads an impressive ground game that has compiled 11 total scoring runs this season, and could have a big day against the Ti-Cats’ struggling rush defence.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
After eking out a narrow 24-23 win over Toronto two weeks ago, the Tiger-Cats put a scare into the Alouettes last week, twice seizing the lead before rolling over in the fourth quarter on the way to a 31-18 defeat. Tre Ford once again got the call under centre but failed to build on his 21-for-27, 218-yeard passing performance versus the Argos, mustering just 164 yards with one TD and one pick while compiling just 24 rushing yards. That has not dampened the confidence of Hamilton head coach Scott Milanovich, who compared Ford to former NFL star pivot Michael Vick earlier this week, praising the 28-year-old for his mobility and speed. Indeed, Ford could enjoy ample opportunity to showcase his ball carrying skills against a Calgary rush defence that has surrendered two scoring runs in each of the past three games and currently ranks seventh in the CFL with 106.3 rushing yards allowed per game.
