Stampeders vs. Roughriders Prediction: CFL Week 6 Point Spread, Odds

The Roughriders enjoyed a bye last week after remaining the CFL’s lone undefeated team this season with a decisive 37-18 victory over the BC Lions two weeks ago. The Stampeders rebounded from their first defeat of the campaign with last week’s 37-16 rout of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and trail the first-place Riders by just two points in the CFL West standings.

The Roughriders are 5.5-point home favourites on the CFL Week 6 odds. The Stampeders trail as +200 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total for Friday’s contest is pegged at 53.5.

CFL Odds and Betting

These CFL West rivals hit the gridiron on Friday night for the first of two regular season meetings. The Stamps have largely dominated in regular season head-to-head action, topping the Riders in nine of 12 matchups since the start of the 2019 CFL season including five straight victories in Saskatchewan. The Stamps have also covered the spread eight times during their current 9-3-0 run against Saskatchewan and have won outright in five of their past six visits to Mosaic Stadium as betting underdogs. Both these teams have been reliable bets so far in 2025, with the Roughriders covering in each of their four wins to date this season, and have gone 4-1-0 SU and ATS in their past five home dates while surrendering just 19 points per game. The Stampeders enter CFL Week 6 with a perfect 3-0-0 SU and ATS record as underdogs this season and have seen each of their three wins to date come by double-digit margins. But despite their relatively fast start, the Stamps trail as a distant +1000 bet on the Grey Cup odds.

Calgary Stampeders

After seeing their offence sputter in a Week 3 20-12 loss to Ottawa, the Stampeders bounced back last week with a convincing 37-16 win over Winnipeg. Overall, the Stamps have averaged almost 35 points scored per game in their three wins to date. But perhaps more important has been this team’s stingy defensive play. Calgary enters Week 6 perched atop the CFL team stats with 20.3 points allowed per game and have allowed just five total touchdowns during their 3-1-0 start, with each of those scores coming in the fourth quarter. Indeed, the Stamps defence has been downright stifling in first-half action, giving up an average just 6.3 points before the break. That stout performance has provided a big assist to quarterback Vernon Adams Jr., who failed to find the end zone in his first three starts with the Stampeders. However, the 32-year-old finally broke through last time out, tossing for two scores and 222 yards in the win over the Blue Bombers.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

Perched as +280 favourites on the Grey Cup odds, the Roughriders now face their toughest test of the season so far. However, the league-leading Saskatchewan offence should be up to the task after enjoying a much-needed bye last week. The break has provided quarterback Trevor Harris to recover from a head injury that sidelined him for the squad’s dominating win over the Lions two weeks ago. Harris had been enjoying a productive start to the campaign while tossing for a respectable 806 passing yards and five scores in three starts but he has connected on just two scoring passes in jis past three dates with the Stamps. In the absence of Harris two weeks ago, running back AJ Ouellette picked up the slack, running for 139 yards and one score and currently ranks second in the CFL with three rushing TDs this season.
