Stampeders vs. Blue Bombers Prediction: CFL Week 8 Point Spread, Odds
It’s quite simple in the CFL in Week 8: There are four games, and each stand alone on a different night. The Friday matchup is from the West Division as the Calgary Stampeders visit Winnipeg. The Blue Bombers are -1.5 on the CFL odds with a total of 59.5 points that is the highest of the week.
CFL Odds and Betting
Calgary sits fourth in the West Division at 2-4, while Winnipeg is tied for second with Saskatchewan on eight points, but the Blue Bombers have played an extra game. The only two teams without a road loss so far this season are Winnipeg and Saskatchewan. Calgary, meanwhile, has been better away (1-1) than at home (1-3).
Friday marks the second meeting of the season with the third in Week 19 also at Princess Auto Stadium. In Week 1, the Blue Bombers were 1.5-point favourites in Calgary and won 30-28. Sergio Castillo hit the walk-off winning field goal from 38 yards. Brady Oliveira rushed for 113 yards and a TD and added 24 yards on three receptions.
The Stampeders had taken a 28-27 on a Vernon Adams Jr. three-yard TD run with just over a minute remaining. The Blue Bombers allowed 21 points and 120 yards rushing in the first half but just seven points in the final 30 minutes and shut down the run.
Calgary had won all three meetings in 2025, two in blowout fashion. The Stamps are 4-2 ATS in their past six in Winnipeg. The over has hit in the past five matchups in any location.
Calgary Stampeders
Calgary was a 1.5-point home dog last week in its second straight game against Montreal. The Stamps again played valiantly but lost again, 38-32. Tailback Dedrick Mills was named one of the CFL Players of the Week after rushing 15 times for 130 yards and a touchdown – plus eight first downs and a two-point conversion — along with three catches for 38 yards and another score.
Mills did most of his damage in the second have when Calgary rallied from down 22-3 at intermission to tie only to fall short. Mills enters Week 8 leading the league in carries (85) and rushing yards (524).
Vernon Adams Jr. threw for 316 yards and three scores in the losing effort. He leads the league with 17 TD passes and still yet to throw a pick. That has tied the CFL record for the most touchdown passes without throwing an interception to start a season set by Ricky Ray and Darian Durant in 2013. The Winnipeg defence has only allowed 17 offensive touchdowns this year. Calgary is 2-4 ATS in its past six.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Winnipeg was -5.5 at struggling Ottawa last week but had to rally from down 17 for a 36-34 overtime victory. Redha Kramdi batted down a Jake Maier pass on the game’s final play to seal the victory.
Starting a second game in a row for injured quarterback Zach Collaros (on six-game injured list), Dru Brown finished 27-of-43 for 317 yards and two scores against an Ottawa team that traded him in late June after he lost the starting gig there. Ontaria Wilson was busy with seven for 64 yards as well as a two-point conversion.
The Winnipeg defence forced four consecutive Ottawa punts before OT with the Redblacks managing just 19 total yards in those four possessions. Jake Kelly had first career interception at the back of the end zone in the third quarter.
Tony Jones had eight tackles and has 38 on the year to stay on pace for triple digits. Jones had 102 tackles last year, and the last Blue Bombers player with back-to-back 100-tackle seasons was Barrin Simpson with 110 in 2006 and 112 in 2007. The under is 6-1 in the Blue Bombers’ past seven at home.
