CFL Odds and Betting
Saturday night’s matchup at McMahon Stadium marks the first of three regular season meetings between these CFL West Division rivals. The Stampeders claimed victory by double-digit margins while sweeping a two-game season series with Saskatchewan last year, and have now topped the Riders in six of eight clashes while going 5-3 against the spread over that stretch. With the Riders averaging just 19.8 points per game, the UNDER has gone 5-3 over their past eight matchups with Calgary.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
After escaping with a narrow 17-14 season-opening win in Edmonton, the Riders’ showed signs of an offensive breakthrough against Winnipeg. Quarterback Trevor Harris tossed for 413 yards and three touchdowns, with Samuel Emilus making all three scoring catches, and both Tevin Jones and Shawn Bane Jr. each topping 100 receiving yards. However, the Saskatchewan defence wilted against the Bombers attack, both on the ground and in the air. Losers in eight of their past nine overall, the Riders have now surrendered over 31 points per game over their past four contests.
Calgary Stampeders
A visit to Ottawa proved to be just what the Stamps needed to rebound from a disappointing 25-15 loss to BC in Week 1. Dedrick Mills led the attack with a game-high 12 rushing yards and recorded one of the team’s two scoring runs. And quarterback Jake Maier was steady despite failing to find the end zone, completing 22 of 33 pass attempts for 332 yards. However, he has now tossed picks in each of his two outings so far this season. The Stamps defense also turned in another stingy performance, allowing just 280 total yards while forcing five turnovers on the night.
