Roughriders vs. Stampeders Prediction: CFL Week 3 Point Spread, Odds
A clash of CFL West rivals highlights the sports betting schedule on Saturday night, as the Calgary Stampeders play host to the Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders in a CFL Week 3 betting matchup at McMahon Stadium. The Stampeders enjoyed a bye in Week 2 after opening their campaign with a narrow 30-28 loss to Winnipeg that marks their fifth defeat in six games with CFL West opponents. The Roughriders travel to Cowtown after outlasting the BC Lions to claim a 31-27 home win over BC in their season opener last weekend.
The Roughriders lead the way as 1.5-point favourites on the CFL odds board. The Lions trail as +100 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is listed at 51.5.
CFL Odds and Betting
While the Stampeders finished the 2025 campaign outside the playoff picture, they have enjoyed regular success when facing the Roughriders, claiming victory in seven of nine head-to-head dates including each of the past three, capped by a decisive 32-15 victory in Calgary last August. The Stamps have effectively shut down the Saskatchewan attack during their current three-game win streak, limiting the Riders to just 12.3 points per game while claiming victory by and average margin of 15.3 points, and have averaged 28 points per game over their past six versus the Riders.
With the Roughriders struggling to score, the total has gone UNDER in four of the past five meetings between these squads. But overall, the Stamps have produced uneven results at home, winning just five of their past nine. Saskatchewan has also struggled at times on the road, winning just two of five since seeing a 6-0-0 run end, but have covered the spread in 11 of 14 away dates, and are just 1-2 ATS in their past three as road chalk.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Riders needed a fourth-quarter rally to eke out a 31-27 win over BC last week after storming out to an early 17-3 lead. Trevor Harris provided the heroics with three touchdown throws on 30-for-36 passing for 417 yards, marking the first time the veteran Roughriders pivot has connected for three TDs since last August.
Kian Schaffer Baker emerged as Harris’ favourite target, pulling in 11 of 13 passes for a game-high 165 yards. But it was Samuel Emilus that Harris turned to at crunch time, with six catches and three TDs including the game-winning score with less than a minute remaining. The offensive outburst was welcomed by the Riders, who often got the job done with small down the stretch last season, averaging just 21.5 points per game during their final four contests including their two playoff wins.
Calgary Stampeders
The Stampeders’ 2025 campaign was marked by streakiness that ultimately led to a finish outside of the playoff picture while losing five of their final eight contests. That trend extended into last week’s season opening loss to the Blue Bomber, with the Stamps scoring in bunches early on before letting the win slip away with a shaky performance after the half. Vernon Adams was unspectacular while compiling 239 yards on 17-for-29 passing and a late TD pass that came on Calgary’s only march into the red zone after the break.
A repeat performance will unlikely be as easily forgiven against a Roughriders squad that scored with efficiency last time out. Jalen Philpot led all Calgary receivers with 96 yards on five grabs while Dedrick Mills pounded the rock for 112 yards and one score on 16 carries.
