Roughriders vs. Lions Prediction: CFL Week 11 Point Spread, Odds

It’s hard to find a bigger morale boost than knocking off a 7-0 team. Sasky did just that last week taking a bite of the Calgary Stampeders 40-27. The best offence in the league was held speechless after surrendering five sacks and five turnovers to the lowly Riders. Watch for another inspired performance on the road this weekend from the green and white in BC.

Betting Analysis

The BC Lions enter this game as 2.5-point favourites on the CFL odds board because they are a perfect 3-0 on their home turf this season. Yes, they are division bottom dwellers, but at home they’ve untouchable having taken out Montreal, Winnipeg, and Edmonton.

Given last week’s Roughriders performance, as mentioned, this may be their biggest test yet though and a win will be vital for the Leos keep up in the always competitive west.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

Since returning from his concussion two weeks ago, Zach Collaros has been a breath of fresh air for the Riders. He’s completed 69 percent of his passes for 531 yards and while he’s only hit the end zone once, his team hasn’t needed a hefty production.

Instead, Saskatchewan’s defence has awoken from its slumber. Charleston Hughes continues to lead the league with 11 sacks and his team is also now ranked second in points allowed (202) and forced fumbles (9) after last week’s Stamp stomp.

BC Lions

The BC Lions are still in search of an identity. The Travis Lulay project has shown major wear over the past few weeks, but their alternative in Jonathan Jennings hasn’t faired much better. The longtime Lion has thrown six touchdowns and four picks, while JJ has gone two and three. The QB spot isn’t the only hole in this offence though. The team could really use a boost from their run game, which currently ranks second last in yards (746).

On the defensive side of the ball, BC has a few stats that are a little misleading. They are tied for third in the league with eight interceptions but last in forced fumbles. Unless the Lions are picking off a pass, their secondary has been a weakness. Meanwhile, they are second in the league in pass knockdowns (30), but tied for sixth in sacks (16), so they’re getting to the QB but their finish has lacked considerably.
