These two teams will see a lot of each other as they close the 2019 regular season with back to back games against each other starting with game one in Edmonton on Saturday night.

CFL Odds and Betting

It’s funny how the CFL schedule works, but this is not only the first game of the season between the Eskimos and Roughriders, but the first game against each other in almost a calendar year.

Last season the two teams split the season series, each winning on home field, with both games going under the total. In fact, these two teams have played five consecutive unders dating back to November of 2017.

The Roughriders are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall, and 5-0 ATS in their last five games played in October dating back to last year.

The Eskimos are all kinds of cold entering this game. The team is 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games, and 1-4 ATS in their last five games played against West division opponents.

Head to head the Roughriders hold the edge going 5-2 ATS in their last seven meetings with the Eskimos.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Riders enter this game winners of four of their last five games. They are 4-4 this season on the road and have a 5-3 record against the West division.

Last week in Vancouver they knocked off the BC Lions 27-19 on the foot of kicker Brett Lauther, who nailed four field goals in the win. However, three of those field goals were in the red zone, and the team hopes to start converting those field goals into touchdowns.

Running back William Powell is just three yards shy of 1000 for the season.

Also, Naaman Roosevelt had his first 100+ yard receiving week in over a year (September 22, 2018) with a seven catch, 106 yard game against the Lions.

Edmonton Eskimos

Good news for the Eskimos in regards to Quarterback Trevor Harris, he’s been activated off the six-game injured list. He can practice this week and it is likely, but not confirmed that he will start against the Roughriders on Saturday. The pivot has been out of the lineup since week 13. He has 3706 yards passing on the season along with 15 touchdown passes.

The team has already clinched a spot in the post season but it is still unknown if they will play against a West opponent, or crossover to the East.

Receiver Greg Ellingson hit the 1000+ yard mark last week in a six catch, 133 yard effort against the Lions. It’s the fifth consecutive year that he’s hit that mark.
