With eyes still focused on chasing down the Stampeders for first place in the West, the Roughriders enter this game with their Prairie rival just four points back of Calgary, but only holding a four point lead for third place Winnipeg.

Sports Interaction oddsmakers have made the visiting Roughriders 3.5-point favourites in this game.

Betting Analysis

This will be the third and final match-up of the regular season between these two teams. So far, the Roughriders have handled the Blue Bombers winning back to back games in early September. The Roughriders have won three out of the last four games against the Blue and Gold, but are 1-3 in the last four games in Winnipeg.

The Blue Bombers enter this game on a three game winning streak overall, but are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the West division. Meanwhile, the Green Riders have also won three in a row, and are 5-0 (ATS) in their last five games against the West.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

Defensive lineman Willie Jefferson came up big for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in their 19-12 win against the Eskimos this past weekend. He had five tackles, a sack, and most importantly an interception that was run back for a touchdown with only 1:37 remaining in the game to give the Riders the victory. The defence definitely did their part in the win.

Offensively speaking, Zach Collaros just couldn’t lead the team into the end zone on the Thanksgiving afternoon. Collaros was decent, going 25-of-38 for 259 yards, but zero touchdowns. The running game was a complete no-show, totalling 32 yards as a team. Tre Mason led the way with 20 yards, one of his lowest totals since joining the Roughriders.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

At the beginning of the season, the team was projected to be a contender for the West division, and the Grey Cup. The season started off well, but hit a major snag in the middle of August that saw the team lose four straight games. Now, they are undefeated since week 15, and face their three toughest opponents, Saskatchewan, Calgary and Edmonton to close out the year.

During the winning streak the defence has allowed 16.33 points per game, and the offence as average 33.66 points per game. Quarterback Matt Nichols is coming off a three touchdown performance against the RedBlacks – that’s the most touchdowns he’s thrown in a game this season. Running back Andrew Harris was named a top performer of the week, running for 132 yards on 20 carries. He is second in CFL rushing just three yards back of the leader William Powell.
