RedBlacks vs. Tiger-Cats Prediction: CFL Week 21 Point Spread, Odds
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will look to clinch first place in the East Division when they face the Ottawa RedBlacks, who can go from last place in the league to tied for last place with a win.
Hamilton has controlled the division all season and they enter the final week of the regular season even with Montreal at 10-7, while holding the tiebreaker. That means a Ti-Cats win or an Alouettes loss against Winnipeg clinches the division for Hamilton.
It’s a completely different story for Ottawa, who sit dead last in the CFL at 4-13. However, a win to cap the season off would tie the RedBlacks with Toronto in the standings, after the Argos completed their schedule last week.
The Tiger-Cats are heavy 14-point favourites on the CFL odds, with the total set at 52.5.
CFL Odds and Betting
The Tabbies are looking for the season sweep after taking out Ottawa 23-20 in Week 6 and 30-15 in Week 7. That continued a trend that has seen Hamilton win 13 of the last 15 head-to-heads between the teams.
Things don’t look great for the RedBlacks in this spot. They’ve failed to cover the spread in any of the games on their current five-game losing skid and they’re just 2-12 straight up in their last 14 road games.
This is a massive number for Hamilton to cover and it’s a little concerning given they are just 2-6 ATS at home this season.
Ottawa RedBlacks
With nothing to play for, the RedBlacks shouldn’t hold anyone out of this game. Of course, quarterback Dru Brown was already shut down for the season a few weeks ago and I don’t see Ottawa keeping this game close. The RedBlacks have lost seven of their last eight games and five of those losses have come by double digits.
Dustin Crum is also out with a head injury, so Tyrie Adams will start at quarterback. This will be Adams’ second start of the season after throwing for 286 yards with three TDs and three interceptions last week in a 39-28 home loss against Montreal.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Ti-Cats likely wanted to have top seed clinched already so they could rest players this week, but it could be a blessing in disguise. It’s a chance for Hamilton’s starters to have a get-right game after losing two of their last three games by a combined score of 77-23.
This week also gives quarterback Bo Levin Mitchell one more chance to make his case to be named Most Outstanding Player. The 35-year-old leads the CFL in passing yards (5,032), passing TDs (34) and completions of 20-plus yards (47) while throwing just 11 interceptions.
