RedBlacks vs. Stampeders Prediction: CFL Week 11 Point Spread, Odds

Calgary and Ottawa are both coming off disappointing results in Week 10. The Stamps blew a halftime lead, losing 39-25 in Toronto, while the RedBlacks settled for a bizarre 22-22 tie at home against Saskatchewan.

Calgary opened as a 2.5-point favourite on the CFL odds, with the total sitting at 50.5.

CFL Odds and Betting

The Stampeders are looking to split the season series after falling 33-6 in Ottawa in Week 8. Ottawa dominated the game, limiting Calgary to just three points combined over the first three quarters. Overall, however, Calgary has won seven of the last 10 head-to-heads, with the total going Under in eight of those games.

Ottawa has been a decent cover option this season, going 5-3 against the spread. They’ve favoured lower scoring affairs, with the total going Under in six of eight games, including five of the last six.

The Stamps failed to cover the spread last week, but they are still a CFL-best 6-3 against the spread this season and they’ve covered in all four home games. Calgary leans slightly toward higher scoring contests, with the Over hitting in five of nine games.

Ottawa RedBlacks

It was certainly a weird one for Ottawa last week as they played Saskatchewan to the first tie in the CFL since Week 1 of the 2017 season. Dustin Crum took over quarterback duties after Dru Brown suffered a leg injury early in the second quarter. Crum finished with 211 passing yards, 72 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown and one interception. There’s been no update on the seriousness of Brown’s injury, although he was seen in a walking boot along the sidelines last week.

Veteran quarterback Jeremiah Masoli will get his first start of the season on Thursday. Masoli hasn’t started a game since 2023 due to ACL and Achilles injuries. The 35-year-old signed with the RedBlacks in 2022, but has been limited to just five total games over the last two years, throwing for 1,120 yards with two TDs and three interceptions. He’ll be tasked with leading an Ottawa offence that averages the third-least amounts of points per game (24.5) in the CFL.

Calgary Stampeders

It was a tale of two halves for the Stampeders last week. Calgary led 15-7 at the break, but they were shut out 32-0 over the final two quarters. Quarterback Jake Maier had an inconsistent performance, racking up 373 passing yards and a touchdown, but he also threw a costly pick-six. Peyton Logan and Tommy Stevens each finished with a rushing touchdown, while Reggie Begelton (104 receiving yards) and Clark Barnes (74 yards) led the way through the air.

The Stamps have a puzzling record this season that may actually help them this week. While Calgary is winless in five road games in 2024, they are actually a perfect 4-0 at home. Regardless of where they are playing, the Stampeders need to improve offensively. They rank in the bottom half of the CFL in average total yards (365.3), passing yards (274.6) and points per game (24.1).
