The hottest team against the coldest team, that pretty much seems up this game heading into week 11 of the CFL season. The Riders appear to be on the verge of something big as they march their way up the West division standings. The Redblacks on the other hand appear to be doing the opposite, with just one victory recorded in the last two months.

CFL Odds and Betting

This will be the second of two regular season meetings between these two teams. Back in week two, the Redblacks handed the Riders a 44-41 loss for their second straight win of the season. Unfortunately for the Ottawa fans, since that victory the Redblacks are 1-6 in their last seven games overall.

The Redblacks are 4-1 against the spread in the last five games in Regina, while the over has been in play four out of the last five games between these two teams as well. The over is also 5-0 in the last five games played in Saskatchewan.

Ottawa RedBlacks

This Redblacks team is in a whole heap of trouble and there doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel. In the team’s last 77 offensive possessions, they have managed just three touchdowns. With those numbers it is now rumoured that Joe Paopao will now be in charge of offensive play calling to try to turn things around in a hurry, but it will be a work in progress. This Redblacks team has managed just 175 points in the first nine games of the season, which ranked them second last in the entire league (19.4 points per game average).

Receiver Brad Sinopoli entered the season coming off four straight 1000+ yard receiving campaigns but it appears that streak will soon be broken. Through nine games this year he has 345 yards receiving for an average of 38.8 yards per game. His best game was a 76 yard effort in week four. Moving forward it is important that he becomes once again a key focus of the offence.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Roughriders are the CFL’s hottest team, currently riding a four-game winning streak entering this game with the Redblacks. The team should also be well-rested coming off a game-shortened win in Montreal and a bye week last week.

The big story in Riderville has been the emergence of Quarterback Cody Fajardo. Fajardo has quickly become the team’s undisputed leader since taking over the spot early in the season. The pivot has completed 74.2 percent of his passes for 1871 yards with a CFL best efficiency of 106.7. He also has rushed for 275 yards and six touchdowns, which is the second best mark in the league, one off the top spot.

Speaking of rushing, William Powell is fourth in the CFL with 527 yards and top spot in the league with seven rushing touchdowns.
