RedBlacks vs. Roughriders Prediction: CFL Week 10 Point Spread, Odds
The standalone Friday night game around the CFL looks like the biggest mismatch of Week 10 as the winless Ottawa Redblacks visit Saskatchewan. The Roughriders are 7.5-point favourites with a total of 61.5 points on the CFL odds.
CFL Odds and Betting
Not only is Ottawa the league’s only winless team at 0-7, every other club has at least two victories. The Redblacks have scored the CFL’s fewest points with 166 and allowed the second-most at 247. Saskatchewan (5-2), meanwhile, is two points behind first-place Edmonton in the West Division, but the Elks have a game in hand so we could have a tie by late Friday night.
And Edmonton is an underdog Saturday at East Division-leading Montreal. The Roughriders are +440 second-favourites to win the Grey Cup again, behind only the Alouettes (+165).
Friday concludes the season series, as in Week 5 Ottawa was a 5.5-point home underdog when it lost to Saskatchewan, 27-22. The game was tied 13-13 at halftime, but the Roughriders broke it open in the third quarter on a 101-yard punt return touchdown by Mathew Sexton and a 23-yard TD pass from Trevor Harris to KeeSean Johnson. Saskatchewan scored all its points in the second and third quarters. The Redblacks got an early interception and blocked a punt for a 10-0 first-quarter lead.
The Roughriders are unbeaten in five straight in the series, which includes a tie. Ottawa’s last win was at home in September 2023.
Ottawa RedBlacks
Ottawa was +6.5 last week at home vs. league-best Montreal and got clobbered, 34-13. The 0-7 start is the Redblacks’ worst rejoining the CFL in 2014. Jake Maier threw for 311 yards in the defeat, but Ottawa was 1-for-5 in the red zone, while Montreal went 4-for-4.
With a team off to this bad of a start, you’d expect big changes and some of those have arrived. Defensive coordinator Will Fields was fired and replaced by Jeff Reinebold. To fill his open spot as special teams coordinator, Nate Taylor takes over.
Only Calgary (34.9) enters Week 10 allowing more than the Redblacks’ average of 34.4 points per game. In addition, the team released three-time CFL All-Star receiver Geno Lewis. He signed with the club ahead of 2025 and caught 75 passes for 1,102 yards and six scores. He then got a contract extension over the winter and in six games this year had 20 catches for 231 yards.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Roughriders were -1.5 last Saturday for a big West Division game at Edmonton and won, 28-26, despite playing without three key injured players in running back A.J. Ouellette, receiver Samuel Emilus and defensive halfback Rolan Milligan Jr.
Backup QB and short-yardage specialist Tommy Stevens ran for three scores in the win, accounting for all of Saskatchewan’s points before the fourth quarter on goal-line runs. Trevor Harris was solid in rainy conditions, completing 19 of 24 for 239 yards and a touchdown.
The Riders’ defence held Edmonton to only 55 yards rushing as well as forcing six two-and-outs. Ouellette remains out this week, and it’s not looking good for Emilus, either. Milligan might miss the rest of the season. Saskatchewan has not lost to Ottawa at home since 2018.
