RedBlacks vs. Alouettes Prediction: CFL Week 18 Point Spread, Odds
The Alouettes (7-7) host the Redblacks (3-11) on Thanksgiving afternoon. Lots on the line for the Als, as they could clinch a home playoff date this week with a win.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, an Ottawa loss and a Saskatchewan win means the Redblacks will be eliminated from playoff contention.
CFL Odds and Betting
These two teams have played two games this season with both teams winning in the opposition’s stadium.
On July 21, these two teams combined for 73 points as the Als knocked off the Redblacks 40-33 in Ottawa. On September 2, the Redblacks returned the favour with a 38-24 win in Montreal.
Something to consider, the RedBlacks are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 games in Montreal.
The Alouettes opened as 7-point favourites at Sports Interaction.
Ottawa RedBlacks
It’s been a tough season in the Nation’s Capital as the Redblacks and it got worse this weekend as the Redblacks lost to the Lions on Friday night. The following day the team relieved Head Coach Paul LaPolice of his duties. Interim Head Coach Bob Dyce and his staff are expected to stay on for the remainder of the season. The team has back-to-back games against the Alouettes and Tiger-Cats.
Last weekend in Vancouver, the team fell to the Lions 34-19. One positive they can take out of the game was the play of Quarterback Nick Arbuckle. He had his best offensive outing of the season going 27-of-36 for 363 yards. His favourite target was Justin Hardy, who caught five passes for 94 yards.
Of note, the Redblacks have signed Defensive Back Darius Williams to their practice roster. The 24-year-old began his CFL career with the Elks in 2021 before moving to Montreal this year. Williams has 39 defensive tackles, 11 special teams’ tackles, two INTs and a forced fumble in 24 games.
Montreal Alouettes
The Alouettes started season with a miserable 1-3 record. Then Head Coach Khari Jones was dismissed and there was plenty of uncertainty in Montreal.
Things have changed under Danny Maciocia and this club is on point. The team entered the month of October with a win last week in Edmonton and the squad is looking to do some damage into the post season.
Montreal is 5-1 in their last six games and will end the regular season with back-to-back games against the Redblacks followed by the Argos. The Alouettes are currently two points back of Toronto and don’t be surprised if this team takes over first place in the East.
Of note, William Stanback was at practice last week but didn’t see any action in Edmonton. That could change this week as the team would like him to get some reps in before the start of the post season. The 28-year-old was a CFL all-star in 2021 leading the league with 1176 yards.
