Lions vs. Tiger-Cats Prediction: CFL Week 10 Point Spread, Odds
No team in the CFL is hotter than the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who improved to 6-2 with a 28-24 road win in Edmonton last week. It’s a different story for the Lions. BC is coming off a bye following a 37-33 Week 8 home loss to Hamilton, which dropped the Leos to 3-5.
Hamilton is a 3.5-point favourite to win on the CFL odds, with the total pegged at 55.5.
CFL Odds and Betting

This concludes the regular season series following the Ti-Cats’ Week 8 victory. Hamilton trailed by 10 points with under four minutes to play before Bo Levi Mitchell hit Brendan O’Leary and Kiondre Smith with TD passes.
Hamilton has rattled off six straight victories after starting the season 0-2. The Tiger-Cats sport the best record in the West Division and they are an even 4-4 against the spread overall.
It’s been an up-and-down year for BC, who have dropped two straight games after winning two straight. The Lions haven’t been any better as a cover option at 3-5 ATS for the season.
Both teams have split the Over/Under evenly this season. You can likely count on a higher scoring game this week, however, as Hamilton and BC have combined to hit the Over in four of the last five head-to-heads.
It’s no surprise to see the Ti-Cats with the second-shortest odds to win the Grey Cup at +325 on the CFL futures board, trailing only league-leading Saskatchewan at +275. If you still believe in Nathan Rourke and the Leos, you can get them at +1800 to win the Grey Cup.
BC Lions
Last week’s bye was a much-needed chance to reset for the Lions, who blew a late 33-23 lead against Hamilton in Week 8. Rourke had an efficient night by completing 20 of 27 pass attempts for 289 yards with no interceptions, but he failed to throw a TD pass for the first time this season.
Running back James Butler was one of the bright sports for BC. Butler rushed for 115 yards and two scores. Not to be outdone, receiver Keon Hatcher hauled in 117 yards through the air. Butler leads the CFL in rushing yards (619) and he is second in rushing TDs (five), while Hatcher ranks third in receiving yards (691).
One area of concern is on the defensive side of the ball. The Lions have faced mostly backup QBs this year, but they’ve really struggled when facing starters. BC limited Winnipeg’s Zach Collaros to 179 passing yards, but the other two starting QBs the team has faced have each thrown for over 385 yards. That’s concerning as the Lions get set to face the leading quarterback in the CFL.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Hamilton’s heater streak continued with a sixth straight win last week. Veteran quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell continues to turn back the clock after completing 30 of 42 pass attempts against the Elks, finishing with 350 yards and three TDs. Mitchell leads the CFL by a wide margin in both passing yards (2,551) and passing TDs (18). He went off for 389 yards and three TDs with one interception two weeks ago against BC.
Mitchell has found his best connection with receiver Kenny Lawler, who is second in the CFL in receiving yards (701) and first in receiving TDs (eight). However, it’s actually been Kiondre Smith who has been the most productive over the last little while. Smith is coming off back-to-back performances of 138 receiving yards, recording three total TDs in those games.
Another key for the Ti-Cats has been ball control. A year after being one of the worst turnover teams in the CFL, Hamilton has the second-fewest giveaways in the league. That comes down to Mitchell, who has just three interceptions this season after leading the CFL with 18 last year.
