The BC Lions continue the search for their first win of the 2026 CFL season when they travel to Hamilton Stadium on Friday night to take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in CFL Week 3 betting action.

The Lions opened their schedule last weekend with a 31-27 loss in Saskatchewan, snapping the six-game win streak that closed out last year’s regular season schedule.

The Tiger-Cats are coming off a decisive 37-27 win in Winnipeg in Week 2, but return home looking to tally their first victory of the season at Hamilton Stadium, where they have struggled to find consistency while losing four of their past seven.

The Ti-Cats lead the way as 1.5-point favourites on the CFL Week 3 odds. The Lions trail as +110 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is listed at 55.5.

These teams split a pair of meetings in 2025, with the road squad emerging victorious in each, capped by the Lions’ 41-38 win in Hamilton in early August. That marked the Lions third straight road victory over the Ti-Cats and their fourth win in seven head-to-head clashes since 2021.

However, the Tiger-Cats have held the edge at the sportsbook when facing BC, going 5-2-1 against the spread in eight meetings, but remain winless ATS in the Lions’ past three visits.

With the total reaching at least 60 in their past five meetings, the OVER has paid out in each of those contests, but has gone just 2-3 in Hamilton’s past five home dates. The trend towards the OVER extends to the Lions’ recent contests on the road, going 5-1 over the squads final six away games last season, in which they surrendered over 33 points per game.

Despite dropping their season opener, the Lions remain second favourites on the Grey Cup odds as a +425 bet while the defending CFL East champion Ti-Cats trail at +900.

BC Lions

CFL betting fans should be in for a treat with Friday night’s matchup, which features two of the CFL’s most prolific passers. Nathan Rourke had little trouble moving the ball in last week’s defeat, connecting on 24of 37 pass attempts for 330 yards, but failed to find the end zone for the first time in 11 appearances since the squad’s 37-33 home loss to Hamilton last July. Rourke connected on 21 TD passes during his impressive 10-game run, and has tossed for over 300 yards in nine of 11 outings.

However, Rourke looks to have maintained good chemistry with Justin McInnis, who pulled in eight of 20 targets for 129 yards. McInnis has been key to the success of the Lions’ passing game while compiling over 1,250 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons while making 14 total TD catches. While Rourke failed to connect on a scoring pass, he emerged as the squad’s top rusher with 59 yards and one score, while James Butler scampered for a pair of TDs in the loss.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

After suffering a heartbreaking walk-off overtime loss to Montreal in Week 1, the Tiger-Cats rebounded in a big way with last weekend’s win over the Roughriders. Passer Bo Levi Mitchell flashed vintage form while tossing for 287 yards and three touchdowns, and while he continues to trail Davis Alexander and Zach Collaros in passing yards, he leads the CFL with an 84.1 per cent completion rate.

Kiondre Smith has caught 10 of 11 total targets this season, and made a pair of scoring catches last week, and is well on his way to topping 1,000 passing yards for a second straight year after racking up 167 yards over the first two games of the campaign. Kicker Marc Liegghio has also been a model of consistency, going a perfect 5-for-5 on field goals and 7-for-7 on extra points.
