Lions vs. Roughriders Prediction: CFL Week 21 Point Spread, Odds
The Roughriders enter Saturday’s season finale already assured of a first-place finish in the CFL West standings, but have produced mixed results down the stretch while winning just two of their past five, capped by last week’s 17-16 loss in Winnipeg. Conversely, there could be plenty on the line for the Lions, who have won five straight and enter Week 21 deadlocked with Calgary in the race for second place in CFL West, just two points up on the fourth-place Blue Bombers.
The Lions arrive in Regina pegged as 7.5-point road favourites on the CFL Week 21 odds. The Roughriders trail as +275 underdogs on the CFL moneyline, and the total is set at 51.5.
CFL Week 21 Odds and Betting
The Roughriders claimed victory in their first two meetings of the season with BC, and have topped the Lions in three straight on home turf by an average margin of 19.7 points per game. Saskatchewan has also been a solid bet in head-to-head action, covering the spread in eight of nine dates with the Lions including a 34-29 victory when they last faced BC as a home underdog back in August 2023. However, the Riders have been a betting disappointment in the second half of this season, going 3-5 ATS in their past eight overall and a meagre 1-5 ATS in their past six home contests. Conversely, the Lions have breathed new life into their season while winning their past five games. BC has emerged as the CFL’s highest scoring team while piling up 38.4 points per game during their 5-0-0 run and scoring at least 33 points in nine of their past 10, extending an epic 10-1 run for the OVER in totals betting.
BC Lions
While the playoff picture in the CFL West remains uncertain entering Week 21, the Lions’ playoff fate could be decided before they hit the gridiron on Saturday. With the edge in tiebreakers over Calgary and a two-point lead over Winnipeg, the Lions control their own destiny and can clinch second place with a win on Saturday. Accordingly, anything less than wins by Calgary and Winnipeg will hand BC a home date in next week’s West semi-final. However, should the Stampeders win in their date with Edmonton and Winnipeg comes out on top versus Montreal, the Lions will have to claim a victory over the Riders to maintain hold of second place and avoiding crossing over to play in the CFL East semi-final. With so many variables at play, early wagering on this contest is not for the faint of heart.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Roughriders have nothing to gain in Saturday’s season finale, but after resting several starters in last week’s loss in Winnipeg and with the team set to enjoy a bye next week, CFL betting fans should expect to see head coach Corey Mace give his starters at least some limited playing time. That includes quarterback Trevor Harris, who is coming off three straight 340+ yard performances, and running back AJ Ouelette, who has recorded a scoring run in five of his past six outings. But for sports bettors who can’t resist making one more wager on the CFL player props, the best value will likely be found after the results of this weekend’s other three games are already determined.
