The Elks are coming off their first win of the season in last week’s 42-31 victory in Saskatchewan, snapping an 11-game slide, but remain buried in the CFL West basement, six points out of playoff contention entering this weekend’s action. The Lions are coming off a 25-0 beating in Winnipeg, and have now lost two in a row after winning five straight to fall to second place in the divisional standings.

In the wake of their first victory of the season, the Elks are listed as 1.5-point favourites on the CFL Week 10 odds. The Lions are a +115 moneyline bet to halt their current slide and the total is pegged at 49.

CFL Week 10 Odds and Betting

Sunday evening’s matchup marks the second and final meeting of the season between these CFL West rival. The Lions rolled to a narrow 24-21 win when the Elks visited BC in Week 4, extending their current straight up win streak in head-to-head action to eight games. The Lions have also covered seven times over that stretch including lopsided victories by double-digit margins in each of their past three visits to Edmonton. With the Elks failing to score in two of their past four dates with the Lions, the UNDER is on a 4-1 run in totals betting.

BC Lions

Already struggling to generate offence during their current swoon, the Lions must now find a way to overcome the loss of quarterback Trevor Adams Jr., who is out indefinitely after suffering a knee injury in last week’s crushing loss to the Blue Bombers. With Adams on the shelf, expect the Lions to turn over the offence to Jake Dolegala. The towering 27-year-old spent two seasons in Saskatchewan before joining the Lions in the offseason and saw his first action of the season after Adams left last week’s contest, going 1-for-3 for just 12 yards in the loss. The change under centre likely means a heavier workload for William Stanback. The 30-year-old leads the club with 431 rushing yards. Stanback has run for one score to date this season, but leads the way as a -130 bet on the CFL player props to score a touchdown on Sunday.

Edmonton Elks

Opportunity knocks for the Elks, who won four of five last season to end a 13-game slide. The absence of Trevor Adams is a huge break for an Elks defence that has surrendered 32.3 points per game over their past four outings and has failed to win at home in over 11 months. However, the Edmonton attack enjoyed a breakthrough last week, with their 42 points marking their highest production since routing the Lions by a 41-22 score back in 2018. Tre Ford looks to have established himself as the team’s starting quarterback after completing 18 of 22 pass attempts for 252 yards and two touchdowns last weekend, and has now connected on five TD passes against just one pick in the past two games. The Elks also benefited from a huge night from Javon Leake, who scampered for 169 rushing yards and three scores. Leake has now compiled 224 total rushing yards in his past two games after compiling just 65 total rushing yards in his first six outings, and is a +900 bet to score the first touchdown on Sunday.
