Lions vs. Blue Bombers Prediction: CFL Week 21 Point Spread, Odds

The Lions and Bombers close out the 2022 regular season in Winnipeg. It very well could be a playoff preview as these two teams were the best two teams in the CFL this season.

CFL Odds and Betting

These two teams met back in week 21 with the Lions scoring a 40-32 win over the short-handed Bombers. Winnipeg elected to start backup Quarterback Dru Brown, who played well throwing for 325 yards (28-for-39).

In week 5 with the Blue and Gold hammered the Lions 42-22 in Vancouver.

Winnipeg has held a significant edge over BC going 20-7-1 against the spread in their last 28 games overall.

The Blue Bombers opened as 4-point favourites at Sports Interaction.

BC Lions

The Lions are 11-5 on the season (10-6 ATS) and 6-2 on the road this season.

The Leos are expecting the return of star Quarterback Nathan Rourke. Rourke was having a brilliant MOP-type season until he went down in a week 11 win against the Roughriders. Prior to suffering his injury, Rourke led the league in every major passing category including completions (248) passing yards (3,281) and passing touchdowns (25). Head Coach Rick Campbell was asked about Rourke’s playing time on Friday, “He made it through fine. We expect to him start and play a full quarter.”

The team will rest many starters in this game as the team is focused on the West Division semi-final next week against the Stampeders.

Of note, veteran defensive back Garry Peters turned in his best season as a Lion in 2022 with a career-high and team-leading five interceptions. He was named the team’s top defensive player.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The Bombers are 14-3 on the season (10-7 ATS) and an impressive 7-1 at home this season.

Winnipeg has locked up first place in the West Division and there are some questions whether or not this team will play a full roster on Friday. Zach Collaros sat out the team’s last game in Vancouver in week 19. With the team receiving a bye next week during divisional semi-finals, he will see some action in this contest.

Rookie Receiver Dalton Schoen enters this game as the CFL leader in yardage. With 1357 yards he has a slim lead over Dominique Rhymes (Lions) who has 1346 yards and Eugene Lewis (Alouettes) with 1303. Lots of questions surround the amount of time he will be on the field. The biggest question: how long will he play? One thing that isn’t for debate is the rookie of the year award. He is a shoo-in for the league’s top freshman at season’s end.
