Both the Lions and Alouettes enjoyed byes over the Labour Day weekend, and both enjoyed them in completely different fashions. The Alouettes are currently on a two-game winning streak, while the Lions are fumbling with a six-game losing streak and are tied with the worst record in the CFL.

CFL Odds and Betting

This will be the first meeting of the season between these two teams. The Lions have a good history against the Alouettes as they are 30-9 against the spread in their last 39 games against them.
However, the Leos are 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall. They are also 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games.
Over their last seven games played in the month of September, the Als have been a disappointing 1-6 ATS.

BC Lions

The Lions lead the league in sacks allowed (43) 14 more than the next closest team (Argos) and are on pace to set a CFL record for most sacks allowed in a season. So, something had to give, and that something was Offensive line coach Brian Chui. Kelly Bates takes over that position in hope of helping Quarterback Mike Reilly the remainder of the season.
With a 1-9 record the season is virtually over for the Leos, but never say never in the CFL. Last season the team went on a major run and found themselves in a cross-over playoff position, but they are going to need help.
This game marks the second of six consecutive games against East division opponents.

Montreal Alouettes

The Alouettes are flying coming into this game with the Lions, and that’s bad news for BC. After missing some time with an injury, Quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. is playing some of his best football to date. In his last two games (both wins) Adams has thrown for 742 yards (53-of-77) for four touchdowns and three interceptions.
The team is ranked second in the CFL in team rushing averaging 134.2 yards per game. The combination of Jeremiah Johnson and William Stanback could take the Alouettes a lot further than people first thought.
Over the bye week the team tinkered with their lineup signing wide receiver Chris Matthews to a contract. Matthews was released by the Blue Bombers and found his way to Montreal soon after. The 6-foot 5 wideout had some injury problems with the Bombers and then found himself a healthy scratch. The former most outstanding rookie and 2018 Grey Cup might give the Als an extra boost down the stretch, but isn’t expected to play Friday night.
