For the fourth straight season a West division team will participate in the East Semi-final. The Alouettes will host its first home playoff game since the 2014 when the Eskimos come to town. The Eskimos struggled on the road this season with a 3-6 record, but if they want to get to the big game, they’ll have to win two games in the East. The first one is on Sunday afternoon.

CFL Odds and Betting

These two teams split the regular season series with both teams winning on home field. However, the last game played between these two teams was back on July 20 resulting in an Alouettes home field victory. A lot has changed since that time.

History points to the Eskimos in this match-up. They have dominated the Alouettes prior to this season winning eight games against them dating back to August 2015. The Eskimos are 5-1 against the spread in the last six games in Montreal.

This season, the Eskimos are 1-9 ATS in the last 10 games against teams with a winning record. They are also 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine games overall. The Alouettes finished the regular season with a 6-3 home field record but were 2-5 ATS in their last seven games at home.

Edmonton Eskimos

The Eskimos crawled their way into the cross-over playoff position on a two-game losing streak. Last weekend the team sat a number of their veteran players including the team’s MOP nomination Trevor Harris.

Harris has played in one game since September 8. Fortunately for the Eskimos that game was on October 26 where Harris showed signs of his old self throwing for 321 yards (27-of-37), one touchdown, and two interceptions in a loss to Saskatchewan.

The Eskimos have plenty of weapons on offence including Running back Shaq Cooper, and Wide Receivers Greg Ellingson and Ricky Collins Jr.

Montreal Alouettes

The Alouettes are coming off a dress rehearsal win over the Redblacks last Friday night (42-32). Head Coach Khari Jones opted to use a full roster for part of the game, and a full complement of back-up players in the win.

Quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. was the team’s nomination for Most Outstanding Player, and if the Alouettes advance to the face the Tiger-Cats in the Eastern Final he’s going to have to play that game of the season.

Adams finished the regular season with 3942 passing yards, fourth in the CFL, 24 touchdown passes (2 nd in the CFL) and 12 rushing touchdowns, which was tied for first in the league.
