Eskimos vs. Alouettes Prediction: CFL Week 6 Point Spread, Odds
The Eskimos opened their three-game trek with a 28-21 loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers – their first setback of the season – but rebounded with a 33-6 drubbing in B.C. the following week. Montreal is coming off back-to-back wins over Hamilton and Ottawa.

Oddsmakers certainly like the start Edmonton is off to this season, but might be sleeping on the hosts a little after Montreal recorded consecutive 36-point showings in wins over the Tiger-Cats and Alouettes. And as the Alouettes kick off a three-game homestand this weekend, it’s worth noting that they’ve successfully covered each of their previous four games in Montreal dating back to last season, while going 8-1 ATS in their last nine contests overall.
These teams clash from a totals perspective, though their recent head-to-head history is noteworthy. Edmonton comes into the weekend having gone below the total six times with one push in its previous eight games overall, while Montreal is 5-1 O/U in its past six games and has an identical over/under mark in its last six following a successful cover. And the sides are 12-3-1 to the over in their last 16 meetings, including a 5-1-1 mark in the last seven in Montreal.
Edmonton Eskimos
One more reason to take the home team and the points this weekend: The Eskimos are a banged-up group heading into La Belle Province, though there’s good news on that front. Quarterback Trevor Harris has returned to practice and expects to be in the lineup Saturday despite getting knocked out of last week’s win over the Lions. The news isn’t as good for standout left guard Matt O’Donnell, who was placed on the injured list with a leg injury.
Montreal Alouettes
Perhaps oddsmakers are pessimistic about Montreal’s chances Saturday because the team is going through some turmoil – specifically, the surprise firing of general manager Kavis Reed last weekend. And there are changes on the field, as well, with the Alouettes releasing long-time kick returner Stefan Logan. The 38-year-old spent the previous five seasons in Montreal and is the all-time franchise leader in kickoff return yards (3,881) and punt return yards (3,457).
