BC enters Week 4 at second place in the West Division with a 2-1 record following a 26-24 win in Winnipeg last week. The winless Elks dropped to 0-3 after their 39-36 shootout loss in Toronto in Week 3. The Lions are set to host Edmonton on Thursday at 10 p.m. ET.

BC opened as a 7.5-point favourite to win on the CFL odds, with the total set at 52.5.

CFL Odds and Betting

The Lions have crushed Edmonton with seven straight wins since the 2021 season. None of those games have been close, with BC’s average margin of victory coming by 26.1 points. The Elks failed to even score a point in two of three games against the Lions last season and they’ve only scored more than 15 points once in the last seven head-to-heads.

After losing outright to Toronto in Week 1, the Lions have won straight up and against the spread in their last two games, with the total going Under in both contests. Edmonton is winless on the season, but they’ve covered and hit the Over in two of three games.

The Lions have vaulted to +375 to win the Grey Cup on the CFL futures board, tied with Winnipeg for the second-shortest odds behind Montreal (+350). It’s a different story for Edmonton, who are tied with Hamilton for the longest Grey Cup odds at +2000.

Edmonton Elks

It was a back-and-forth affair for the Elks in Toronto last week and a walk-off Argos field goal sent Edmonton to their second three-point loss this season. McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who was playing in Toronto for the first time since leading the Argos to the Grey Cup in 2022, had another strong start for the Elks. Bethel-Thompson completed 28 of 38 pass attempts for 342 yards and four touchdowns, tying a career-high. After playing last season in the USFL, Bethel-Thompson has looked great in his return to the CFL. Through three weeks, he is second in the league total passing yards (978), tied for third in passing touchdowns (six) and he is seventh in passing efficiency (102.4).

Edmonton has been a better team than their record shows this season. Their first loss came against the 3-0 Saskatchewan Roughriders, their second loss was against the defending Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes and it took a last-second field goal for Toronto to beat them last week.

One thing that needs to improve, however, is the Elks’ rushing defence. They were torched for 186 rushing yards against the Argos and they are giving up an average of 109 rushing yards per game this season, the second-worst mark in the CFL.

BC Lions

BC got their revenge last week in a rematch of last year’s West Division Final, handing Winnipeg their third loss on the season. Vernon Adams Jr. completed 21 of 33 pass attempts for 398 yards and two TDs. Adams currently leads the CFL in passing yards (1,038) while throwing six touchdowns and just one interception.

Alexander Hollins had a monster game against the Bombers, finishing with 215 receiving yards and two TDs. Hollins leads the league with 402 receiving yards, while William Stanback leads in rushing yards (187).

With the top quarterback, receiver and running back in the CFL, the Lions’ offence has been dominant in the first three weeks. BC is averaging league-highs in both total yards per game (430) and passing yards per game (346).
