The Bombers and Elks will get your Thanksgiving long weekend started on Friday night. This is a matchup of first versus worst in the CFL’s West Division. The Bombers will be missing the league’s top receiver, while the Elks welcome back their franchise Quarterback.

CFL Odds and Betting

Overall, the Blue Bombers are 5-1 against the spread in the last five games versus the Elks, including a 37-22 win over the Elks in week seven in Edmonton, and a two-game sweep of the Elks in 2019. The Elks are 1-5 against the spread in their last 6 games versus Winnipeg.

The over is 4-1 in the last 5 games in Winnipeg and 5-2 in the last 7 games overall.

These two teams will meet for a third and final time this regular season next week in Edmonton.

Edmonton Elks

The Elks are very thankful to turn the page on the month of September. Last month, after starting off the month with a surprising 32-20 win in Calgary on Labour Day, the team dropped three straight games. Over that three-game losing streak, the team was outscored 103-60.

However, the month of October (on paper) is looking promising. The team has back to back games against the Bombers and a matchup with the Tiger-Cats to end the month.

Last week the team dropped a 34-24 decision to the Redblacks, the second loss to Ottawa this season, who currently are tied for the worst record in the CFL (with the Elks).

The best news of the week for the Elks; Trevor Harris has taken first time reps all week and is expected to start for the first time since October 11 versus Calgary.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The Blue Bombers are coming off a 30-9 win in Vancouver last Friday night and are currently 7-1 on the season, first place in the West and first place overall.

The Bombers defence has been nothing short of amazing this season. They have allowed a league-low 107 points in eight games for an average of 13.38 points per game.

On offence, after his 417 passing yard performance against the Lions, Bombers Quarterback Zach Collaros now leads the league in passing with 2148 yards. He is currently the favourite at Sports Interaction to win the MOP award. He was named one of the CFL’s Top Performers of the week.

The big news of the week in Winnipeg is the news of Receiver Kenny Lawler. Lawler was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while impaired and is suspended for this contest for this game against the Elks. Former Roughriders wideout Naaman Roosevelt will likely make his Bombers debut Friday night.
