Blue Bombers vs. Stampeders Prediction: CFL Week 11 Point Spread, Odds

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Calgary Stampeders are trending in opposite directions ahead of their scheduled Week 11 matchup in Calgary on Friday night. The Bombers have won three straight games, capped off by last week’s 39-28 victory in Edmonton, while the Stamps have struggled all year and are coming off a 37-9 blowout loss in B.C.

Winnipeg is favoured to win on the CFL odds.

CFL Odds and Betting

Friday is the second of three meetings between the teams this season. The Blue Bombers won the first head-to-head 24-11 at home in Week 5. Winnipeg’s Zach Collaros finished the game with 231 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Calgary’s Jake Maier tossed for just 122 yards and an interception. After Friday’s contest, the teams will next meet in Calgary in the last week of the regular season.

Winnipeg leads the West Division with a 7-2 record, including a 3-1 record on the road. They’re 5-4 against the spread overall in 2023, covering in two of four road games. The total has gone Over in four of the Blue Bombers’ last six games in Calgary.

The Stampeders sit second-last in the West Division with a 3-6 record, including just one win in four home dates. They are also 3-6 ATS overall and 1-3 ATS at home. The total has gone Under in five of Calgary’s nine games this season.

Winnipeg has won seven of the last eight matchups between these teams.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Last week was another win for the Bombers but it came at the cost of their starting quarterback as Collaros was knocked out of the game with an upper-body injury early in the second quarter. Backup Dru Brown was impressive in relief, throwing for four touchdowns and 307 yards.

Despite Brown’s solid performance, it will still be a big loss to Winnipeg’s offence if Collaros doesn’t play this week. Collaros leads the CFL in both total passing yards (2,298) and touchdowns (16), while throwing just six interceptions. Brown has completed 23 of 33 pass attempts this season for 408 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions. He’s added another two TDs on the ground.

The Blue Bombers leads the CFL in total yards per game (420.2) as well as passing yards per game (300.7) and they are second in points per game (30.9).

Calgary Stampeders

It was a blowout from the start in Calgary’s loss to the Lions last week. The Stamps gave up a touchdown on B.C.’s first drive of the game and eventually trailed the Lions 17-0 after the first quarter. Lack of offence has been a major issue for Calgary all season. The team ranks in the bottom half of the league in total yards per game (339.3), passing yards per game (246.9) and points per game (22.1).

Maier continued to struggle at quarterback last week, with several key mistakes leading to confusion with his receivers that resulted in multiple dropped passes and missed routes. Maier completed 17 of 31 pass attempts for 131 yards while failing to throw a touchdown pass for the third straight game and fifth time overall this season. He is second in the CFL with 2,208 passing yards, but he has only managed eight touchdown passes compared to 11 interceptions.
