Blue Bombers vs. Stampeders Prediction: CFL Week 10 Point Spread, Odds
The Stampeders return home clinging to a two-point lead over Winnipeg in the race for second place after dropping a 31-11 decision in Ottawa that extends their current losing streak to two games. The Blue Bombers travel to Calgary after snapping a three-game slide with last week’s 40-31 win over Toronto that leaves trailing the Stampeders by two points in the standings but with a game in hand.
The Stampeders lead the way as 4-point favourites on the CFL Week 10 odds. The Blue Bombers trail as +170 underdogs on the CFL moneyline and the total is pegged at 51.5.
CFL Odds and Betting
The Blue Bombers will be making their second visit to McMahon Stadium when they wrap up their three-game season series with Calgary on Sunday night. The Stamps rolled to a decisive 37-16 win when they hosted the Bombers five weeks ago and have now claimed victory in three of four dates with Winnipeg, snapping a six-game head-to-head losing streak. Calgary followed up on that victory with a crushing 41-20 win in Winnipeg a week later and have now limited the Blue Bombers to 20 or fewer points in four of their past six regular season meetings. That has paid dividends for the Stampeders, who have now covered in six of eight dates with Winnipeg. However, Calgary has covered in just two of seven dates with the Bombers as betting favourites since 2016. With the Stampeders running up the score, the OVER has paid out in four of five head-to-head contests involving these squads.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
The Blue Bombers stopped the bleeding with last week’s victory over the Argonauts, but this team still has plenty of work to do to shore up a porous defence that has surrendered an average of 35 points during their current 1-3 run that includes two crushing losses to Calgary by a combined margin of 42 points. With the pressure on the Winnipeg attack to generate points, the Bombers will be eager to see Zach Collaros return to action. The veteran pivot was sidelined for last week’s win over Toronto due to a neck injury but returned to practice early this week. If Collaros is unable to go on Sunday, look for Chris Streveler to once again get the call. Streveler has led the Blue Bombers to wins in both of his appearances this season but struggled last week versus the Argos, connecting for just 173 passing yards and no touchdowns while tossing three picks.
Calgary Stampeders
The Stampeders have already won this year’s season series with Winnipeg, but most avoid being overconfident after handing the Blue Bombers a pair of brutal defeats. Indeed, this team faces a big challenge on offence after getting outclassed in last week’s loss in Ottawa, generating just 139 total yards before the half and failing to penetrate the RedBlacks 30-yard line until they scored their lone touchdown of the contest in garbage time, midway through the fourth quarter. The absence of Vernon Adams Jr. has not helped matters. The veteran quarterback was sidelined for last week’s loss in Ottawa due to a head injury, which left the offence in the hands of PJ Walker, with dismal results. Walker struggled at times while going 20-for-37 for 273 yards and one TD while tossing three picks. However, Adams is reportedly set to return to action on Sunday, which should provide this team with a much-needed spark.
