Blue Bombers vs. Roughriders Prediction: CFL Division Finals Point Spread, Odds
The Roughriders will be hosting the West final for the first time since 2009. They have not
played for the West division title since they won the Grey Cup in 2013. If they return to the
Championship final, they’ll have to get past their Prairie rivals from Winnipeg, who knocked
them out of the post season last season.
CFL Odds and Betting
The Roughriders took the season series from the Bombers two games to one, with each team
winning on home turf. The two teams have met in the West final three times, with the most
recent game happening back in 1972.
The Roughriders took two of three games from the Bombers, with all teams winning on home
field. Saskatchewan went 8-1 at home this season and are 5-0-1 against the spread in their last
six games entering this one.
The Bombers are 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 games following an ATS win, and 7-1 ATS in their
last eight games against the West division. They are also 4-0 ATS in their last four games
overall. They are also 4-1 ATS in their last five games against the Roughriders head-to-head.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
It has been a crazy football season for Zach Collaros. The twice traded (this season)
Quarterback now has an opportunity to beat the team that gave up on him in the middle of the
season and punch his new team’s ticket to the Grey Cup. Collaros is a perfect 2-0 in two starts
with the Bombers. Both wins against the defending Grey Cup champion Stampeders. Last week
he shared duties with Chris Streveler and they performed magic. Collaros would throw, and
Streveler would run, all this to the tune of a 35-19 win over Calgary.
The Bombers crushed it along the ground against the Stampeders for a team total of 195 yards.
Streveler led the way with 82 yards, Andrew Harris had 57 yards, and Nic Demski 53 yards
(Janarion Grant three yards). This game plan will be mirrored versus the Roughriders.
The Bombers defence limited the Stampeders to just 207 yards net offence and turned the ball
over four times, including a turnover on downs on their last possession. The two fourth-quarter
interceptions led to 10 points for the Blue and Gold.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Roughriders chances revolve around Quarterback Cody Fajardo. Fajardo was not only the
team MOP nomination, but also the West division representative for the award. He led the CFL
in passing yards with 4302, rushed for 611 yards (7 th in the league) and also had 10 rushing
touchdowns, which was fourth in the league. Anytime he touches the ball, he has a chance to
do something big. The offence under his guidance finished with 487 points, for an average of 27
points per game. Fajardo has been battling an oblique injury, but says he will play on Sunday.
Running back William Powell will be a factor in this game. The first year Rider finished second in
the CFL in rushing with 12 rushing touchdowns.
On defence, the Riders ranked second in points allowed (386) averaging 21.44 points against
per game. Defensive lineman Charleston Hughes finished first in sacks with 16. But he only has
12 tackles in his six games. Defensive back Nick Marshall finished the regular season with five
interceptions, which tied him for third in the league.
