Blue Bombers vs. RedBlacks Prediction: CFL Week 16 Point Spread, Odds

The Redblacks are 2.5-point favourites on the CFL odds, the shortest spread of the week, with a total of 51.5 points.

CFL Odds and Betting

We pass the three-quarter mark of the 2025 CFL regular season with Week 16. In the West Division, Saskatchewan already has clinched a playoff spot with Winnipeg and B.C. tied for third at 6-7, but the Blue Bombers currently holding the tiebreaker. However, they are under .500 for the first time this season. Via the CFL official site’s forecast, Winnipeg has a 58.5 per cent shot at the playoffs, which would equate to a price of about -140.

Ottawa is last in the East Division, a game behind third-place Toronto, and is given a league-low playoff per centage of only 25.5, which equates to nearly +300.

This concludes the season series between the teams as the Blue Bombers were 4-point home favourites in Week 11 when they failed to cover the spread in a 30-27 victory. Sergio Castillo made a 47-yard field goal as time expired. Winnipeg had blown leads of  17-0 after the first quarter, 20-3 at halftime and 27-10 lead 21 seconds into the fourth. Ottawa’s Kalil Pimpleton had a 117-yard TD return of a missed Castillo 57-yard field goal with 53 seconds remaining to make it 27-27. The Redblacks lost starting QB Dru Brown to injury in the third quarter.

The Bombers have won 10 of their past 13 games against Ottawa, but the Redblacks are 4-2 ATS in the past six meetings. The under is 6-2 in the previous eight.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Winnipeg dropped its third game in a row (1-2 ATS) last Friday, 32-21 at Hamilton as a 7.5-point underdog. Starting quarterback Zach Collaros was ruled out again with a head injury, and Chris Streveler completed 18 of 29 for 241 yards, a TD and two interceptions in his place. Hamilton converted both INTs into touchdowns. Streveler also rushed 11 times for 82 yards and a score. Decent chance that Collaros is back this week as he was fully dressed out at practice on Tuesday and on the sideline last Friday. In 10 games this season, Collaros has thrown for 2,297 yards on 197-for-267 passing with 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Streveler, meanwhile is 0-3 as a starter in 2025. Third string QB Terry Wilson was warming up on the sidelines late in the fourth quarter last week but did not enter the game. Tailback Brady Oliveira was busy in the loss, rushing 15 times for 116 yards and catching four passes for 35 yards. Turnovers have been a problem this year for Winnipeg, which now has a minus-12 differential. Hamilton is 8-4 ATS in it past 12 road games.

Ottawa RedBlacks

I projected Ottawa to lose 33-26 last week at the B.C. Lions, and we weren’t far off with the Redblacks falling 38-27 as 7-point underdogs. It marked only the second game in the past six that Ottawa didn’t cover the spread. Dustin Crum was terrific in the loss in completing 30 of 35 for 307 yards (career high) with a touchdown and no picks while rushing for two scores. Crum lost a fumble that was returned for a score and was sacked seven times, including four times by defensive lineman Mathieu Betts. B.C. tallied 40 lost yards from sacks. Crum doesn’t deserve to be benched but might take a seat this week with injured QB Dru Brown close to a return from injury. He was a limited participant in practice all last week before being ruled out a third straight game. Brown was dressed for the game, though. Ottawa had two 100-yard receivers in the loss in Bralon Addison (11 catches for 132 yards) and Justin Hardy (nine catches, 100 yards, TD). On Tuesday, the Redblacks added two Americans to the practice roster in quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams and defensive lineman Jesse Evans. Ottawa is 2-4 ATS in its past six at home.
