Blue Bombers vs. Lions Prediction: CFL Week 19 Point Spread, Odds
The Lions and Bombers close out the 2022 regular season with a home and home series. First off, the team’s meet in Vancouver for a date on Saturday night.
CFL Odds and Betting
These two teams met back in week 5 with the Blue and Gold hammering the Lions 42-22 in Vancouver.
Winnipeg has held a significant edge over BC going 20-6-1 against the spread in their last 27 games overall. In Vancouver, the Bombers have played even better, going 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games.
The Blue Bombers opened as 2.5-point favourites at Sports Interaction and that number quickly jumped the fence as the Lions are now slight favourites.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
The Bombers are 14-2 on the season (10-6 ATS) and an impressive 7-1 on the road this season.
Winnipeg has locked up first place in the West Division and there are some questions whether or not this team will play a full roster on Saturday. All reports out of camp say Quarterback Dru Brown will make his first CFL start, replacing starter Zach Collaros (rest). He will likely play most of the game unless something drastic happens. Also, Dakota Prukop will see action as well. He has been the team’s third quarterback this season, seeing action on short-yardage plays.
The team is coming off a monster 48-11 win last week in Edmonton. Rookie Receiver Dalton Schoen had his best CFL game to date, hauling in seven catches for 162 yards and three touchdowns. He leads the league in receiving yardage with 1275 yards and also touchdowns with 14. He is a shoo-in for the league’s rookie of the year award at season’s end.
BC Lions
The Lions are 10-5 on the season (9-6 ATS) and 5-3 on home turf this season.
The Leos are in a fight for second place in the West Division with the Calgary Stampeders. Both teams have identical records, and both want to claim that spot which would guarantee themselves a home playoff date in the West Semi-Final.
BC is coming off a 23-20 setback in Toronto last week and have dropped two of the last three games entering this one.
No official word on Lions’ quarterback Nathan Rourke. Rourke (foot) was limited at practice earlier this week. He injured his foot back in Week 12. There is hope that the young pivot will be ready sometime before the post season, but this week doesn’t look good.
Receiver Lucky Whitehead (ankle), defensive backs Jalon Edwards-Cooper (foot), Adrian Green (knee), fullback David Mackie (foot) and offensive lineman Phil Norman (shoulder) after missed practice earlier this year, but all are expected to play this weekend.
