Blue Bombers vs. Lions Prediction: CFL Week 9 Point Spread, Odds
The Bombers open up the month of October with a trip to Vancouver to face the Lions. The team has won six of their first seven games and are now meeting a Lions squad hoping to rebound after dropping a decision to the Roughriders last week.
CFL Odds and Betting
This will be the first of two games between the Blue Bombers and Lions in the month of October. The two teams will meet at the end of the month in Winnipeg.
The Lions are 5-2 against the spread this season but are 1-2 on home turf. The Blue Bombers have a pair of wins on the road with only one defeat.
Back in the 2019 season, the Blue and Gold took both games of the two game series and averaged 32.5 points in those games.
Of note, the Bombers are +225 favourites to win the Grey Cup. All Grey Cup Odds are posted here.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
After a well-deserved bye week, the Blue Bombers are back at it and headed to the West Coast on Friday night.
The Blue Bombers have the top record in the CFL (6-1) and have a championship-calibre defence that has allowed a league-low 14 points per game this season along with 12 forced fumbles. The team’s secondary has been ball hawks this season, recording a league-best 10 interceptions.
The offence is ranked third in the league with just over 21 points per game. Zach Collaros is a favourite at Sports Interaction to win league MOP. The addition of Andrew Harris has provided a spark to the offence. After missing the first three games of the season due to injury, Harris has gained 353 yards and is ranked sixth in the CFL.
BC Lions
The Lions are still scratching their heads after Saturday’s 31-24 loss at home to the Roughriders. The Leos were on the verge of winning their fourth-straight game until the final 20 seconds, where they allowed two touchdowns.
Quarterback Mike Reilly is ranked number one in the CFL in passing with 1860 yards. On Saturday he had his streak of 300+ yard games snapped at three.
A favourite target of Reilly’s has been Wide Receiver Lucky Whitehead. The Lions signed Whitehead away from the Grey Cup Champion Bombers in the off season and that move has proved to be brilliant. Whitehead leads the lead in receiving with 665 yards and four touchdowns.
One spot the Lions hope to improve is their running attack. The team does not have a player ranked in the top ten in the league’s rushing categories. Last week may have been a season low for the club. Michael Reilly led all Lion rushers with 17 yards versus Saskatchewan.
