The Blue Bombers close out the month of September against the two tops teams (Montreal & Hamilton) in the East division. As they try to secure a post-season position, the Bombers will face an old friend in Khari Jones and his Alouettes team that has made some unexpected noise this season.

CFL Odds and Betting

The Bombers enter this game on a five-game winning streak against the Alouettes including a 3-0 (straight up) mark at Molson Stadium. Digging a little bit deeper into the numbers, they are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven contests in Montreal.

The Alouettes have played remarkably well against top opponents with a 10-2 ATS record when playing teams with winning records.

Of note, despite having a 9-3 record overall, the Bombers are 3-2 versus the East division. Also the over has been a factor when these two teams met in Montreal, as it has gone over that mark in six of the last seven games.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The Blue Bombers are coming off a bye week, but still sit in first place in the West division, as that race continues to tighten with the Stampeders and Roughriders just two points back.

The team has won four of the last five games entering this one including their most recent game, a 35-10 beat down of the Roughriders.

Running back Andrew Harris is eligible to return from suspension (2 games – bye week) and should have fresh legs. Surprisingly, even after serving the penalty he still leads the CFL in rushing yards with 908, 93 yards more than second place CJ Gable of the Eskimos. In his place, Johnny Augustine did not look out of place rushing for 173 yards on 28 carries through two games and also catching five passes for 80 yards. Perhaps the Bombers now have a one-two punch in the backfield heading into the stretch run of the regular season?

Quarterback Chris Streveler is now 2-1 as a starter since replacing Matt Nichols due to injury. In three games as full-time starter Streveler has rushed for 230 yards. Perhaps he’s an option if you are considering a player prop for this game?

Montreal Alouettes

The Alouettes had their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday in a 27-25 loss to Saskatchewan. The Als will look back at the tape and not like what they see as the team allowed 17 points in the fourth quarter. They still had the lead late in the game when Roughriders kicker Brett Lauther booted a 39-yard field goal to win it.

Over the last four games, Vernon Adams Jr. has been pulling up MVP-type numbers averaging 329.5 yards passing. He also has six touchdowns in the past four games and now leads the CFL in rushing touchdowns with 10. He is also ranked fifth in the league in passing yards with 2465 yards despite missing some time.

One interesting storyline will be the play of Receiver Chris Matthews. Matthew was cut by the Bombers earlier in the month and quickly found a home with in Montreal. Last week he played his first game as an Alouette, catching one ball for 42 yards. Could he be a factor in this game against his ex-team?
